Mighty

Yang is a character who joins Cecil's journey for a short time. This monk drives like a truck, as one would expect from anyone who embodies this legendary work and Final Fantasy game. The fact that she doesn't need to wear the most expensive gear to unleash this damage is a testament to Yang's effectiveness as a character.

What makes him even more desirable in a combat scenario is his Kick, which can be used to hit all enemies and deal significant damage. This makes grinding very easy as players use this tangible movement to decimate enemies in a flash before being rewarded with a decent amount of experience.

7

Squall Leonhart

Anyone from the game qualifies, but Squall's Limit Break helps it stand out

Final Fantasy 8

Released

February 11, 1999

OpenCritic rating

Strong

Squall Leonhart is the protagonist, who does not make the best impression with his aloof nature. It's only later that his vulnerabilities become apparent, allowing players to empathize with his struggles as he juggles his responsibilities as a leader and friend.

Technically, everyone inside Final Fantasy 8 qualifies here because of how broken the Junction system is. However, only when players use 100 units of powerful magic to boost Squall's power and unleash the patented Lion Heart Limit Break will they see how much this character is overpowered with a single aura cast. Unlike other party members, players can also time the trigger to increase the damage of his regular attack each time, something fans should be able to master to make him a reliable damage dealer in combat.

Cloud Strife

He boasts amazing physical stats along with incredible and iconic limit attacks

OpenCritic rating

Strong

Cloud is a permanent member of party v Final Fantasy VII except for one notable stretch, but fans won't mind having to put this character in their party of three every time. This is because Cloud's well-rounded stats make him a strong offense-oriented party member with excellent defense.

Strong

In a game that harkens back to the classic era of the series, it's easy to see why Steiner is such an invaluable party member. Final Fantasy 9. This knight can wear the most powerful equipment to handle enemy attacks and defeat others with a single swing of his sword.

What makes him even better are the combos he can perform with Vivi, essentially allowing him to become a magic sword. This makes Steiner a must in a party against tough bosses unless players are confident enough to go without the services of the strongest party member in Final Fantasy 9.

4

Auron

WITH Final Fantasy 15The focus on real-time action meant the main character needed to be stronger than ever. With his Warp Strikes, Armiger, and Royal Arms, it's easy to see why Noctis can tear his enemies apart in an instant.

The Royal and Windows Editions allow players to get Armiger Unleashed, a better version of his Limit Break that can be used to unleash some flashy moves in battle. It boosts his power even more and makes him the strongest member of the group Final Fantasy 15 by a country mile.

Clive Rosfield is a Dominant who can channel the power of Ifrit to crush his enemies, but that's not all. He soon discovers that he can gain the abilities of other Eikons to use powerful moves in battle.

This makes Clive probably the strongest party member ever. Summoning an astral being is impressive, but nothing else Final Fantasy A party member can transform into Eikon and take on these larger-than-life creatures in battle all by themselves, a great display of this protagonist's power.
