How to solve Theddon Jail Cell puzzle in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
Many players will find Theddon early in the game and won't know what to make of a prison cell that seems impossible to enter. It is not possible to enter at first. To complete this quest, you must obtain Dragon Quest 3 remakeUltimate Key. Make sure you do this before trying to get the Green Orb.
There are several interesting things to be found in Theddon, including night light, which will be used in finding the solution to the mystery of the prison cell and the collection Green ball. It can be found in the dresser upstairs from the Outfitter, but only during the day. This is because while you'll find a few residents roaming around town at night, during the day they'll all be skeletons. The night light allows you to switch between day and night whenever you want.
As you begin to explore the city, you will find a dilapidated prison cell at the northern end of the city. You'll find it guarded at night, and the prisoner inside has a quest marker clearly above his head. During the day, you can enter the cell through the crack that the guard blocked, but the prisoner is a skeleton. That's why you need Ultimate Key.
Once you have the Ultimate Key, return to Theddon. If it's daytime, go outside the village and use the night light (or the Tick Tock charm) to switch to night. Go back to the prison cell and talk to the prisoner. He tries to give you the Green Orb, but is suddenly interrupted by an ominous voice. The voice turns out to be Dying Fire, an enemy boss you must defeat.
How to beat Dying Fire in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:
Dying Fire is a tricky enemy, mainly because it is able to create doubles. In addition, the battle also includes several ghosts, which are higher level versions Shades. Fortunately, both enemy types have a weakness that is hard to exploit, especially if you're moderately level.
The A dying fire is weak to Turn on spells. If you have Zappleyou can knock out one Dying Fire fairly quickly. If you have Kazap (not us yet), the fight can be almost trivial. Use the hero to focus Zap variations on each Dying Fire and let the rest of the team focus on the Phantasms first.
Ghosts they are weak to Crack spells. Our mage and sage had both Kacrack when we entered this fight and it made short work of the Phantasms. If you have dual casters, use one to constantly hit with ice and the other to switch between attacking and healing. The Dying Fires aren't weak to Crack, but they have 0% resistance, so it's still worth using Kacrack on a lot of them.
Carry whatever equipment will help you negate insta-kill spells. Dying Fire likes to cast Whack, and when there are multiple Dying Fires in an encounter, the chance of one hitting increases quite a bit.
Once the fight is completed, the player gains Green ball. If this was your first orb, consider getting another Red Orb, followed by a Blue Orb.
