Marvel Rivals is the perfect appetizer for Marvel's upcoming Slate of Games
Marvel Games has a lot of projects on the horizon, and the recently released superhero shooter Marvel Rivals does a great job of setting them up.
Meanwhile, some Marvel Rivals fans think they've uncovered a clue about another future playable character hidden in the new Sanctum Sanctorum Season 1 map. As pointed out by Reddit user fugo_hate on r/marvelrivals, an image of Dr. Strange's mystical assistant Wong can be seen briefly in the trailer for the new Marvel Rivals location, seemingly inspired by its MCU incarnation. This raises doubts as to whether Wong will be added Marvel Rivals' playable roster someday, as well as what his magic-powered skill set will be.
Fans think Wong could be added to Marvel Rivals
While Wong was a staple Doctor Strange comics since the 1960s, he has received a massive surge in popularity in recent years thanks to Benedict Wong's portrayal of him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the gaming world, Wong previously appeared as unplayable in 2006 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance before it can be played in mobile games like Marvel Contest of Champions and Marvel Snap besides that LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2.
Of course, the image of Wong could just be a nod to one of Doctor Strange's most valuable allies. Marvel Rivals The Sanctum Sanctorum map is full of references and cameos from the supernatural side of the Marvel universe. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night launches later this week, so players won't have to wait too long to challenge Dracula in three new locations or take on other players in the new Doom Match mode. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman will also be added as playable characters on January 10th.
