Summary

  • “NoDmgRocket” managed to reach Grandmaster in Marvel Rivals by doing exactly what their name suggests.

  • By focusing solely on healing, they were able to climb the ranks without taking a single point of damage.

  • On Reddit, a player outlined how they did it.

On its own, reaching Grandmaster in Marvel Rivals is cool, but somewhat uninteresting. But how about reaching Grandmaster without each taking a single point of damage?

Yes, you read that right.

One Marvel Rivals player aptly named “NoDmgRocket” was able to hit Grandmaster III with a total of 0 damage taken and 0 eliminations. Over 108 games and nearly 19 hours of playing time, they have accomplished what some would consider impossible.

Here's how they did it

In a post sharing their achievements on Reddit, “NoDmgRocket” outlined how they were able to reach Grandmaster without any bans or damage to their name.

Their method? Oh, just under 3 million in healing. That, plus 3,666 assists and more than 315,000 damage blocked and 71 wins in 108 games, they were able to do that.

“See? I'm helpful,” one player cheekily wrote in response.

Of course, it's important to remember that it's not like they never fired a gun. The player confirms shooting down Moon Knight's Ankhs, Loki clones, and missile beacons whenever possible. For whatever reason, they don't count as damage, but contribute to accuracy numbers.

“If that's the case, it's a surprise you never accidentally shot anyone walking by or accidentally shot the real Loki pretending to be a clone,” one user wrote in response, while others noted how it must have been nerve wracking.

That said, as one user pointed out, doing a similar run with anyone other than Rocket would be nearly impossible. His movement and his abilities make him a perfect candidate for a “No Damage” playstyle that would otherwise not be possible with other support characters who play differently despite having a similar role. Still, it's quite a feat and it will be interesting to see if he tries to climb even higher with this style.
