CLAIR OBSCUR: Expedition 33 was one of the most interesting games we saw on the Xbox Direct developer last week. Among the things presented at this event were the massive open world of the game, the color cast of the characters, and the deeper view of the unique twist in the turn -based struggle that Clair's obscur boasts.

We also learned that Sandfall Interactive focuses on the start date of April 24, 2025 and will come on the first day of the day. The game also includes a massive star cast, including Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16) and Jennifer English (Baldur's Gate 3). In the latest episode of the official Xbox podcast (thanks, Gamesradar+), CEO of Sandfall and creative director Guillaume Broche explained that while Andy Serkis and Charlie Cox went through their agents, Ben Starr and Jennifer were added to the audition. You would think that Clive and Shadowheart would not need an introduction, given how popular their characters have been since 2023.
Broche revealed that the auditions were “just for a trailer, for Gustave and also a voice trailer, so we received as 20 different auditions. They were blind auditions, so we didn't know the name of the people who sent the tape. ”
“There was one voice that performed,” he continued, “I said,” Okay, it's a really great voice. Let's take the guy. “Later our designer search Victor [Deleard]He listened to the tape and was like, “Isn't that clive from the final fantasy?”
He continued and said that in the case of English something similar happened: “We have received as 25 belts [orphaned protagonist Maelle]And I thought, “This is the one.” Later they just told me, “This is Shadowheart.”
Clive and Shadowheart were undoubtedly one of the most popular video games from 2023, so you can bet that Broche was quite excited to find that they were occupied for Clair Obscur, especially because it was only based on their audition.
