While it's not quite reaching the peak of concurrent players it was when it came out a year ago, Marvel Rivals for all its warts – and there are many – is still a popular game, averaging close to 100,000 players per day on PC alone.
That said, imagine if NetEase partnered with DC Comics and Warner Bros. instead of Marvel. and everyone like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Plastic Man fought for it, would skins like Kingdom Come Superman sell, and the biggest emotion is something goofy, what is Flash doing?
I Need More Sonic X Justice League Content Really, really bad
Team Sonic as the heroes of the Justice League has so much potential.
Well, imagine no more, because one creator has put together some concepts of what DC Rivals could look like, and it's epic.
At this point, DC fans will take anything they can get in terms of game content
Taking to Twitter, concept artist AnGrey released some of his own for DC Rivals, including some awesome key art of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in a hyper-stylized Rivals look.
The concepts don't stop there though, as AnGrey has decided that Superman and Wonder Woman will be the Vanguard characters, while Batman will be the Strategist.
Oh, and don't forget the skins, as the creator took their original designs and tweaked them to fit various comic-accurate looks, much like Rivals did in mixing the two tastes.
Of course, no DC team would be complete without the rest of the Justice League, so Aquaman, Green Lantern, and the Flash were also included in the tie-in art. Both Aquaman and Flash would serve as Duelists in this fictional world. Meanwhile, Green Lantern joins Batman on the strategist's side.
And yes, they also have skins, including a Reverse Flash outfit that would almost certainly have to launch with this concept.
Overall, it's an amazing concept with a lot of work that went into making things work within the parameters that NetEase set with Marvel Rivals, including class roles and comic book-looking but still grounded outfits.
The only shame in all of this is that it just doesn't exist, and given the recent gaming options that DC fans have to deal with (Gotham Knights or Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League), it's a shame that it's not coming out.
