Frieren Season 2 will be released on January 16, 2026. Fans no longer have to wait for official accounts to share information about the release date. Now that the anime's release date has been confirmed, fans can get ready to watch Frieren and her group travel through a fantasy world.
Frieren Season 2 will probably adapt the Continued Northern Travels arc, the Divine Revolte arc, the Golden Land arc, and maybe even the Goddess's Monument arc. The initial season of the anime adapted 60 chapters, so there's no reason to believe the second would be any different unless the studio cut it short from the first.
The first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has 28 episodes and they were divided into two courses. With Madhouse releasing a second season almost three years later, it wouldn't make sense for the episode count to be lower than the first.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Manga is on hiatus
Fans are delighted at the news of the anime's return, but at the same time worried about the manga. The Frieren manga is on an indefinite hiatus due to the health conditions of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. The two have been working tirelessly on the manga, so they're bound to feel some burnout.
Hopefully the break will help their recovery so they can come back and finish the story. The ill health of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe should remind readers that the manga industry is brutal and the people working on the projects deserve a good rest.
Other famous mangaka such as Eiichiro Oda, Yoshihiro Togashi and Gege Akutami also suffered from poor health due to the constant work on their projects. Recently, Gege Akutami revealed that his health was not improving until Oda suggested he go to another hospital. Hopefully Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe won't have to rush back to work.
