Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeardis the main character in One piece series. Since he was referenced all the way back in Drum Island, few fans thought he would become as big as he eventually became as the story continued. He first officially appeared in the series during the Jaya Arc, which was 23 years ago. Blackbeard's importance has only grown since then, and the final saga revealed a lot of important lore about him. his special Davy bloodline.
In Egghead, fans learned about his true goal and motivation for wanting to become king of the world. More recently, in Elbaf's Loki flashback, specifically the God Valley incident, Oda continued to elaborate on it. Blackbeard's ancestor, Davy D. Jones, was revealed to be the previous king of the world before Ima. The pieces begin to fit together, and Blackbeard's overall purpose is clearer than ever. Blackbeard, along with Luffy and Shanks, will be central to the Final Saga.

For quite a long time, Blackbeard was built as the main antagonist for Luffy to face at the end One piece. Although Imu exists in One Piece as one of the final antagonists of the story, many fans still believe that he will be the final challenge for Monkey D. Luffy in the Final Saga.
For the vast majority of the series, fans had more questions than answers regarding Teach. Oda preserved Blackbeard's great mysteryand readers had no idea of his motivations, background, or true nature.
But now, with Final Saga, Oda finally began to reveal everything about Teachfrom his particular line to his real goal. In the Egghead arc, specifically in One Piece Chapter 1107, Saint Saturn asks Laffit and Devon what the Blackbeard Pirates are really after, and their answer is pretty straightforward, “The World”.
What they really meant is much clearer when we consider the God Valley event during Elbaf. Indeed, Rocks D. Xebec continues to uncover the truth about his and Blackbeard's ancestor, Davy D. Jones. Jones was King of the World during the Void Centurybut was usurped by Imu. Xebec also referred to Ima as “the world” and in other words, Blackbeard's true goal is to depose Ima and reclaim the throne from him.

Blackbeard has a huge role in One Piece's Final Sagaregardless of whether he is the ultimate antagonist or not. He must accomplish what Jones and Xebec could not, and in return fulfill the Will of Davy.
Xebec had plans to overthrow the world government and defeat Imabut unfortunate circumstances surrounding his family caused him to face Im when he was unprepared. However, Blackbeard is already ahead of his father in this regard, as he already has one of the Devil Fruits needed to defeat Imu, Yami Yami no Miin his possession. Blackbeard along with Luffy can succeed where the likes of Davy D. Jones, Joy Boy and Xebec have failed.
