Against all logical, used Xbox can cost more than what you paid for it

Last time I turned on my Xbox Series S was the day I bought it. I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but it's a 100 % truth. I bought this console at the end of 2020 at the impulse. When I arrived, I happened to be on my local gamestop and Fomo seized. Maybe I'm not a smart man, but I don't have much self -control.

Xbox Series has been sitting unnecessarily on my table in the last five years, because like many of my peers I just don't have it. I have PS5 for PlayStation Exclusive, Switch 2 for Pokemon and Metroidvanias and my computer for everything else. I never wanted to use the S series and I regretted buying it for the longest. It was until Microsoft announced that it increases the price of Xbox again.

What was an impulsive purchase became a smart investment. Why? Because the dusty Xbox, which is sitting on my table, now has more than when I bought it, gold. If I were smart, I would buy 50 xboxes and sit on them to really make a profit. But again, who expected Microsoft to raise the price of a five -year console? This absurd decision has created an absurd situation where my old game console, which should look at the possibilities of retirement, suddenly appreciates value. So does anyone want to buy it?

Buy low, sell high

As a collector, I sometimes dabble in the game. I wouldn't consider myself a seller, but anyone with a serious collection custom knows that you eventually have to find a way to make money back if you want to constantly drive your hobby. I am not one of those guys who undress the Funko pop line on Comic-Con for eight hours, so I can interpret everything on eBay at a triple price, but if I buy a limited edition Trinket, why not buy another (or two) sell?

In the world of scalp (which I am not again) there are several proven things that you can overturn, which over time almost always increases value. One of them is the above funko desks, as well as commercial cards, LEGO and of course a labub. Basically, collecting objects become more expensive because they are becoming increasingly difficult. When more people want something than the availability of this matter, prices are rising.

Most other things do not become more valuable over time. People would rather have a new car with fresh parts than an old, worn beater. The bananas are much better when they are ripe rather than after sitting on the counter for two weeks. The technology is the same. Whether it is a graphics card, mobile phone or Xbox, technically depreciates as aged and replaced by newer and faster devices.

I provide this third -degree economy lesson to emphasize how absurd is that Xbox Series X/S now costs more than five years ago. It can still be the best Xbox on the market, but that should only mean that the price remains the same, not that it rises. It could be tariff (although the former head of Blizzard that claims), but in any case will increase the price of Xbox some strange knock-on effects. For example, there is a chance that your Xbox used could now be more value than you paid for five years ago. At least I try to convince everyone. Who wants to buy mine?

For sale: Xbox Controller, never used.

11-Microsoft has destroyed the Xbox series value

The only wrinkle of this theory is that no one wants to buy Xbox right now. If it was a generation of Xbox 360 and Microsoft suddenly increased the price of the console for five years, we could expect the market for the consoles used and slowly rising until the new price -owned Xbox has reached a brand new price. Depending on how much Microsoft prices have increased, this could lead to the Xbox used more than what it costs. In this world, instead of filling their garages POP Marton, retailers would rather supply Xboxes.

In this world, however, Microsoft increases the price of the console at the height of the ambivalence G ambivalence towards Xbox. People did not buy them at the old price, they will not buy them for a new price and certainly will not buy used for more than at the old price. The fact that Microsoft can freely raise the price does not mean that anyone on eBay can follow. Without being sure, I know that Gamesop has not started offering more credit for Xboxes. Wait and see if it increases its price on the used.

Microsoft was supposed to complete the primary school economy class, because I would explain that raising the price will not help them make more money when there is no demand. Although my old, unpanted Xbox Series S is now more technically valuable than last week, as Microsoft, I will probably be difficult to convince anyone to pay for it.
