Path of Exile 2 has been released into early access and provides not only a full 3-act campaign, but also a complete endgame system for players who can grind as well. With an infamously robust character customization tree that allows for unlimited build creativity, players can tackle the trials of Wraeclast in whatever way suits them best.
Throughout the player's campaign journey, various objectives will provide players with permanent upgrades to their character, including additional skill points, free resistance and life, and more. While some of these bonuses are granted by completing quests, many others are rewarded for killing optional bosses and completing missed interactions that are not recorded in the player's quest log.

All permanent bonuses from the campaign
Permanent bonuses gained from a campaign can represent a significant part of a character's power, both offensively in the form of passive skill points for a weapon set, spirit and mana regeneration, and defensively in the form of maximum life, durability and increased charge charm generation. In addition, these skippable objectives can also unlock major crafting options such as the Salvage Bench and Forge Bench. Total permanent bonuses from the campaign include:
- 24 passive weapon set skill points
- 20% resistance to fire, cold and lightning
- 20 maximum service life
- Maximum life increased by 8%.
- 100 spirit
- Two options between 30% increase in elemental disease threshold or 25% increase in mana regeneration rate
- Choice of 25% increased stun threshold or 30% increased elemental disease threshold or 25% increased mana regeneration rate
- Choice between 10% Chaos Resistance or +5 to all attributes, or 15% reduced debuff slowing potency on you
Permanent bonuses in Act 1
Act 1 features six missed bonuses, including one of three available ghost upgrades, as well as a salvage bench that allows players to turn unwanted items into crafting currency.

Permanent bonuses in Act 3
The final Act available in Early Access, Act 3, offers another choice between stat boosts, but unlike the Ancient Vows reward in Act 2, the choice is permanent in Act 3. A reforging bench is also unlocked here, allowing players to recycle three items of the same rarity and write into the newly discarded item.

Permanent bonuses on brutal difficulty
Only three acts are currently available from Early Access out of the six acts planned for the game's full release. To compensate, the game switches players to Cruel difficulty after completing Act 3, allowing players to go through a harder version of the campaign while keeping all of their items and stats. Identical permanent bonuses are also available throughout the campaign on Cruel difficultywith only a few minor modifications, including:
- Candlemass, The Living Rite now grants 8% max life instead of +20 max life
- King in the Mists no longer grants ghost +30
- Ignagduk, The Bog Witch now grants +40 spirit instead of +30 spirit
- The Slithering Dead now rewards players with a choice between +10% Chaos Resistance or +5 to all attributes, or 15% reduced debuff slowing potency on you.
As the Cruel difficulty is currently a placeholder for the unreleased fourth, fifth, and sixth acts, it is possible that the permanent upgrades granted in the second half of the campaign may change after release.
