All Playable Characters and How to Unlock Them in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive

While you begin your adventure in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive as the protagonist Sung Jinwoo, you will also have the opportunity to unlock many other iconic Hunters from the hit anime series. Progressing through the story will require careful team selection and plenty of upgrades, so it's best to start working on your favorites as soon as possible.

There are 20 hunters to unlock in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, and each will have a different element they specialize in, a combat role, and plenty of upgrades to choose from to make sure you fight.

How to recruit new hunters

Three hunters are unlocked by default

The game starts with you as Sung Jinwoo, but you'll have to fight alone for a while before he joins you a carefully selected team of hunters to help you along the way.

You unlock two hunters, Lee Joohee and Chiyu's songl, for completing the first chapter out of play, with the third, Yoo Jin-hojoin the team after the second chapter. From there, you'll have to wait until the end of the third chapter before you can start paying to recruit more teammates to put in these three bounty hunters.

Additional hunters can be recruited through negotiation

If you'd like to try out different team compositions and play around with new elements or combat roles, you can get started recruiting more hunters after the end of the third chapter. When you return to the main area and complete this chapter, you will be able to start bringing new hunters into your team.

To start, talk to Lim Hajim downstairs and she'll show you a list of them three potential Hunters you can opt out of recruiting right then. These hunters appear to be randomly selected from the list of 17 remaining hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive.

After analyzing the information presented about the three potential options and deciding which character you would like to try to recruit, but make sure you have some Hunt coins stocked up before you do because you'll need it negotiate salary with these characters before agreeing to join.

When recruiting new hunters, each of them has a difficulty of recruitment which will inform you of the general pitch you will need to aim for with your hunting coins. Offering Hunter the required minimum number of coins triggers a chance for them to accept your offer at face value, but they can (and probably will) refuse if you're not generous enough.

You can adjust the number of hunting coins you offer them at the bottom of the screen and you will have three chances to make an offer on your chosen character. The probability that they accept is presented as a success rate above the box that allows you to change the menu.

You will get some of your coins back from failed bids, but not all of them. Continue to submit offers that you feel have a good chance of being accepted. If you don't recruit them after three triesnegotiations with that character will end without her joining your team of potential hunters. You'll have to wait for them to reappear in Lim Hajima's menu before you can try them again.

If there is someone you really when they appear in the recruitment selection menu, you can use them Bounty Posters forcing the Hunter to immediately agree. You won't get many of them though, so use them wisely, usually on higher difficulty hunters.
