What are Sprite Bulbs used for in Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood?
Sprite Bulbs are a collectible that usually appear on an island on your first visit, with more appearing on a return visit to further motivate players to fast travel between islands, even after completing the story there. Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood.
Although the use of Sprite Bulbs is not immediately known, it is best to start collecting them early. Rumble Island is the first in the game, and after visiting it for the first time, you'll be able to track down all the sprite Bulbs on the island; you can find them here.

Where to find every Rumble Island sprite bulb in Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood
There are quite a few 28 Sprite Bulbs can be found on the islandspread between 11 locations. After interacting with the Sprite Bulb and releasing them, they will run around and you will simply have to catch up and make contact with them to pick them up. If you use Luigi Logic by pressing L, it will act independently, making each bulb much easier to grab.

The first two bulbs are located right next to the blue pipe when you enter the island. On the right side of the peninsula there will be one located at the bottom right and one roughly straight to the left of the blue pipe.
The third Sprite Bulb location will be directly north of where you entered the island on the left side of the path. If you continue left past the flower, there will be two more Sprite Bulbs.
The seventh Sprite Bulb is located far to the right of the island from the previous few. While the bulb location is further north, head to the flower along the lower right side of the map and use it to jump up the hill. If you head north, you'll find out panels on which each brother will have to jump in order of color and letter panel. On the other side will be another hill with a rock that can be broken to reveal a Sprite Bulb.
The eighth Sprite Bulb location can be found after reaching the town and heading left. Near the storage block, you'll see a green L button that Luigi can press with a hammer blow to lower the bridge, with the light bulb on the other side.
From the previous location, head to the far right side of the island to find the ninth Sprite Bulb location.
Head further up the island and to the new eastern part that is now open on your next visit, head to the middle part and down the hill to the yellow rock. Destroy the stone to release the tenth Sprite Bulb.
The final location of the Sprite Bulb is just one section to the left of the previous one, along the upper wall to the right as you enter the next clearing.
What are Sprite Bulbs used for in Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood?
After you progress a bit further into the game you will unlock Battle Plugs which are created using Sprite light bulbs. Battle Plugs range widely from passive enhancements such as accessories to active abilities for use in battle. Battle Plugs offer some of the best upgrades or abilities, with the later, stronger ones requiring players to craft the weaker ones first. In order to use some of the best Battle Plugs in the game, you'll need to craft a lot of them, which means you'll need a lot of Sprite Bulbs, so it's best to start collecting early.
