An S-Tier Diablo 4 Season 12 build that is perfect for maintaining a Killstreak

Killstreaks is the name of the game Diablo 4 Season 12 and the return Diablo 3 This feature offers players nice rewards for keeping their streak active. Bloodied items have the most synergy with the Killstreak mechanic, giving players unique buffs depending on their Killstreak level, but maintaining higher Killstreaks also results in more experience and seasonal reputation. As such, the best builds for Diablo 4 Season 12 are the ones that can help players push their Killstreaks to their limits, and there's one clear candidate for the best chance of achieving that goal.

Of course, Diablo 4 players can also become a Butcher and build a Killstreak monster in the Slaughterhouse and grow fresh meat that can be exchanged for Bloodied items in Gea Khul. Butcher transformations only last while in the Slaughterhouse, or for a limited time if activated with Shrine of Slaughter in a Helltide. For players who want to keep their Killstreak alive at all times, even when they're not in Butcher form, Crackling Energy Sorcerer is a must-try build.

Skills needed to build a Bursting Energy Wizard

  • Ball lightning

  • Lightning Spear

  • Unstable currents

  • Loaded screws

  • Chain lightning

  • Teleport yourself

The goal of this build is to charge up the Cracking Energy that was dropped from using Lightning skills to unleash powerful attacks at a fast pace with equally high mobility. Doing so will allow players to quickly move around the map, dispatch groups of enemies and push their Killstreaks even higher. The primary skill for dealing damage and creating orbs of Crackling Energy is Ball Lightning, but Lightning Spear will also be useful for applying Vulnerable to enemies.

Unstable Currents is another skill you must use in this build. Unstable Currents, as a Crackling Energy wizard's ultimate of choice, allows the class to cast an additional random Core, Conjuration, or Mastery Shock whenever they cast a Shock skill. This means players will want to invest in Charged Bolts and Chain Lightning, but focus on casting Unstable Currents and Ball Lightning, leaving Unstable Currents to automatically cast those extra skills. Teleport is the final skill needed for this build to thrive, and with its Enchantment, it allows players to teleport while escaping while generating three bursts of Bursting Energy.

Essential equipment for building a bursting energy magician

  • Esador's overflowing Cameo

  • Orisvan

  • Galvanic Azurite

The cornerstone of this build is Esador's Overflow Cameo, a unique wizard amulet that allows Crackling Energy to deal massive damage. This unique gives Crackling Energy a 10% damage boost for each level of Shock skills the Warlock has equipped, so this build wants to invest in as many Shock skills on the hotbar as possible, even if they aren't being cast regularly. Esadora's Overflowing Cameo also unleashes a massive blast of Bursting Energy upon reaching maximum stacks that can melt enemies in an instant.

In addition to Esadora's Overflowing Cameo, the Crackling Energy Sorcerer can make full use of the Orisvance Unique Mace. This unique gives the Warlock increased damage and bonus spell effects for each defensive skill not on their active panel. Players can use this to gain access to useful streaks like Ice Armor and Frost Nova. Galvanic Azurite Unique Ring is also a solid choice for this build as it creates more bursting energy and increases the lightning damage enemies take from magic skills.

Why Crackling Energy Sorcerer is a Killstreak Superstar in Diablo 4 Season 12

Despite this build being focused on single target damage, it's actually incredibly effective at taking out large groups of enemies simply because of how quickly players are able to rack up serious damage and move on to another group. Part of what makes the kill time so fast on this deck is her ability to apply Vulnerability to enemies with Lightning Spear, which sets up Bursting Energy damage from Esadora's Overflowing Cameo unique effect and wipes out enemies instantly. Players can also spread this damage across groups of enemies using the Legendary Aspect of Bounding Conduit, which allows Crackling Energy to hit two additional targets for five seconds after teleporting.

So the play loop that players should follow in this build involves teleporting into a group of enemies, casting Unstable Currents followed by spamming Ball Lightning, which can be mixed with Lightning Spear if not cast by Unstable Currents. All players have to do is teleport to another group of enemies in places like Helltide or the Pit, and they can repeat the process in enough time to keep their Killstreak alive. This build has been fantastic for quickly clearing endgame activities in the past Diablo 4 seasons, and now that Killstreaks and the Tower are active, there's never been a better time to build a Crackling Energy Sorcerer in Diablo 4.
