Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has praised Pamela Anderson for her new makeup-free look, saying she is “floored” by the star’s “courage and rebellion.”
Anderson, 56, made headlines last week when she attended an event at Paris Fashion Week in a glamorous yellow dress – but with a bare, apparently makeup-free look.
Former Baywatch star Anderson was at the Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2024 womenswear fashion collection. The low-key look was a noticeable contrast to her high-glam days as a 90s style icon – and it was just one of several makeup-free appearances Anderson made across Paris Fashion Week.
And it earned praise from recent Oscar-winner Curtis, who shared a photo of Anderson from the event.
“THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! @pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures… this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.”
Others flooded the post with supportive comments.
“Beautiful,” said Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
“And she was GLOWING,” wrote RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, while comedian Chelsea Handler called Anderson “pretty iconic.”
“Love this. Beautiful self assuredness,” wrote actress Selma Blair, while Alyssa Milano called her “so gorgeous.”
However, others under the post lamented the fact that a woman stepping out in public without a full face of makeup should even be considered an “act of courage and rebellion.”
“The fact that just existing in public not made up is applauded as bravery says so much about our twisted society,” wrote one person.
“Wear makeup, don’t wear makeup. Do whatever makes you feel your best; and don’t judge others who choose to do the opposite,” said another.
