Aetherfont is a level 90 dungeon Final Fantasy 14. After the original portal to the Thirteenth was destroyed under Alzadaal’s Legacy, the Warrior of Light and the Allies seemed out of luck until Y’shtola devised a way to travel between the source moons and the Thirteenth, home of Golbez and Voidsent.

However, you will need massive amounts of Ether to power this portal. To build a portal and stop Golbez’s invasion of Voidsent, you’ll need to travel to Haam Island off the coast of Old Sharlayan, to Aetherfont. How to unlock Aetherfont

Aetherfont can be unlocked with the next level 90 quest after Endwalker.

Like most other dungeons, Aetherfont can be tackled with Trust the NPCs​​​​​​​; Especially Thancred, Zero, Urianger and Varshahn. Going deeper into the dungeon with the Trusts will allow you to go at your own pace. Additionally, NPCs are Trust very good at avoiding mechanicswhich can help tremendously when learning each boss’s attacks for the first time.

It causes damage to you semicircle AoE on the front of the boss. Move quickly behind the boss to avoid damage.

Body Slam

Deals damage to all party members, then summons several small ones ice spikes around the arena.

  • Lyngbakr will use Upsweep after Body Slam causing icy spikes that reverberate before exploding. Each ice spike will explode at you small circle AoE.
  • The second Body Slam will cause larger ice spikes to appear that will explode AoE of larger circle after Upsweep.
  • The third Body Slam will create small and large ice spikes at the same time, which will explode in sequence. Avoid the small ice spikes, then the big ones.
  • There will be further uses of Body Slam alternate large ice spikes and small/large ice spikes.

Targets all players with AoE markers. Space out from each other to prevent these AoEs from overlapping.

Tides

Stack Marker

Aims at a random player for stack identifier. Get together with that player to spread the damage of that attack.

Sonic Bloop

Tankbuster

Deals high damage to the tank. Usage defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage.

Lyngbakr will repeat these attacks until he is defeated. He will always use Floodtide, Tidalspout and Tidal Breath in quick successionso be prepared to move accordingly to avoid these three attacks.

Ripper Claw

Deals high damage to the tank. Usage defensive cooldowns to reduce Ripper Claw damage.

Spinning claw

AoE/Special

It causes damage to you circle the AoE around the bossthen create more large lightning tendrils which explode after a short delay va big AoE line. Watch where the tendrils spread and move accordingly to avoid their explosions.

Lightning rampage

AoE/Special

An enhanced version of Lightning Leap that Arkas will use four times in a row while the edge of the arena is covered in electric shock. Focus on moves quickly between each round of AoE and lightning blast to avoid each attack as it comes.

Lightning Claw

Aims at a random player for stack identifier. Team up with the affected player to spread the AoE damage of this attack.

Electric burst

AoE

Arch targets three points around the arena with lightning AoE. Avoid these locations while avoiding his other attacks.

Arkas will repeat this series of attacks until he is defeated. Trust NPCs are especially useful for this fight, as they will always accurately avoid Lightning Leap/Rampage AoEs and lightning blasts. Keeping track of where they move will prove to be a useful strategy for avoiding damage in this fight.

Octomammoth

The final boss of The Aetherfont is Octomammoth. This huge octopus takes control of the cramped arena with its tentacles and forces you to keep moving throughout the fight. His attacks and mechanics are detailed below.

Octostroke

Octomammoth will move your tentacles around the arenathen use AoE in the shape of a cone and a line in the direction they are facing. Move to a place where there are no tentacles to avoid their attacks.

Vivid Eyes

AoE

Thin ring AoE that directly surrounds the boss. Move back to avoid injury.

Targets all players with Circle AoE Markers. This attack always appears during Vivid Eyes. Extend from each other in avoid overlapping this AoE while also dodging Vivid Eyes’ AoE ring.

Saline Spit

AoE

Octomammoth will target each platform of the circle which make up the arena with an AoE. Stand on sections between individual rounds to avoid injury.

Tidal breath

AoE

The boss will turn slightly before charging a a large semicircle AoE in the direction she is facing. Quickly move to the other side of the boss to avoid this attack.

Telekinesis

AoE

The boss will connect with three orange crystals outside the arena, which makes them target three platforms with AoE attack. Find one of the two safe platforms and move accordingly to avoid this attack.

Breathing

A combination of Octostroke and Tidal Breath. Octomammoth will turn the other waywhich causes harm to you large semicircle AoEwhile its tentacles are moved and used line and semi-circle AoE attacks. Move quickly behind the boss and avoid the tentacle attacks to avoid damage from this combo.

The Octomammoth will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Watch out for Vibrant eyes/water drop and Combinations of breathingas these can cause multiple stacks of Vulnerability Up on you if you’re not careful. If you’re playing with the Trusts, just follow where they’re going and you’ll make your way through this dungeon with ease.
