  • How Provider Upgrades Work in Season of Depth

Fate 2 Season of the Deep has revamped how the vendor upgrade system works. Most seasons feature a 3×7 upgrade grid where players unlock weekly perks via seasonal challenge currencies. This season she did something a little different.

Players will now gain upgrades to their vendor from a dedicated set of Seasonal Challenges. Completing certain victories will upgrade the sonar station on the HELM and provide the player with some powerful upgrades, focus options, and quality of life improvements. This guide will show you how to unlock all ten of these sonar station upgrades. But before we cover the exact challenges, it’s important to look at how Season of the Deep handles these vendor upgrade challenges.

How Provider Upgrades Work in Season of Depth

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Vendor Upgrades Location 3

Season of the Deep’s upgrade system does not use the traditional 3×7 vendor grid seen in previous seasons. Season 21 uses the Seasonal Challenge system for its vendor upgrades. If you enter your Season Challenge menu from the Quests tab, there is a dedicated subsection labeled “Season of the Deep.”

In this section, there are ten challenges that will last until the end of the year, not just this season. Completing these challenges will unlock activity upgrades, engram focus options, and quality of life improvements. Basically everything you would expect to get from a reseller network is here.

For the remainder of this guide, we’ll cover each individual challenge as presented in this seasonal challenge menu. Use the index above to jump to the specific Triumph you are interested in. Each section covers how to complete a challenge and the associated vendor upgrade.

Which upgrades should I get first?

The Deepsight Salvaging, Deep Sea Locksmith and Dive Station challenges appear to be time limited. Focus on getting upgrades from other vendors first.

Since this system is structured similarly to seasonal challenges, you don’t have to focus on a specific one. Try to unlock all these upgrades if possible. If you want details, we recommend that you focus on Armor Deep Focus, Weapon Deep Focus, and Deepsight Salvaging. These upgrades will unlock all focus options on the sonar station, including guaranteed red-edge focus once a week.
