Tensions between Netease and Blizzard have been high since their contract ended. “The terms of the contract that NetEase is clearly unhappy with include standard industry practices and have been mutually beneficial for both parties over the past few years. While we are disappointed and confused by these ongoing actions, it must be emphasized that our nearly 20 years of operations in China have always been very positive and enjoyable, and we will continue to serve local players and protect their rights.” Blizzard Entertainment quoted after receiving a lawsuit from Netease last month.
