Spice Girls’ ‘highly embarrassing’ group texts leak

Indecent details of a private chat between the three Spice Girls caused some blushing – and fury – when they emerged in court documents this week.

In it, a brutally candid Mel B told bandmates Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton that “charity doesn’t pay the bills” as she seemingly discussed a reunion gig.

The Sun understands the revelation of the messages, which were part of a defamation lawsuit filed in the US on Wednesday, has angered the 90s pop icon.

There will probably be a few more tantrums and red faces from a bunch of heated conversations that took place years ago before Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger became besties again.

We’re told there’s a series of cat emails involving Posh slamming her for the way she behaved at the film’s premiere Long live forever! West End Musical 11 Dec 2012.

Spice Girls secret performance revealed

She arrived late at night, stuck in traffic, and then decided to sit apart from the band during the show.

Sources say it didn’t sit well with Mel B, 49, in particular, and it comes just months after the girls reunited as a five-piece at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.

And we’re told they’ve also secretly called in lawyers over a potential tour that didn’t include Victoria Beckham – in case she tried to stop them.

At one point a few years later, the rifts between the other three and Victoria and Mel C, both 50, appeared to be at rock bottom – as they planned to return without them.

A source told The Sun that one girl even confided in a confidante about one of her bandmates’ financial problems.

It all happened after Mel B’s group chat with Geri, 51, and Emma, 48, emerged.

Ironically, after her ‘charity doesn’t pay’ remark, Geri told Mel that she hoped ‘nobody hacks into your messages’ – to which Mel said: ‘Why? My lyrics are fine,” before adding: “Like I said, charity doesn’t pay everybody’s bills, no.”

Our source said: “It’s very uncomfortable for the girls as it doesn’t exactly fit with their main messages.

“But obviously the fair was a few years ago and since then they’ve all kissed and smacked each other.

“Just look at how happy they were in April when they celebrated Victoria’s 50th birthday together and sang their greatest hits together after a few drinks.

“The hatchet is well and truly buried.”
