Aldi selling ‘world’s best’ chocolate for $5

Australians are thrilled to discover the “world’s best chocolate” is on sale for almost half its “luxury” price.

A shopper named Gemma discovered and took to social media to reveal that Aldi was selling Tony’s Chocolonely bars as part of a two-week special buy promotion.

“$4.99, seriously?,” she asked, as the highly coveted chocolate from Holland usually retails for $8.

“They have a white chocolate strawberry shortcake and a dark milk chocolate brownie,” revealed Gemma.

Social media users were also impressed with this deal, with some declaring it the best chocolate in the world.

“Dark milk chocolate brownies are next level,” one social media user commented.

Another said: “Almost half the price of the big box stores, wow! I will definitely pick one up.”

It’s not the first time Australians have fallen for the chocolate bar, with shoppers getting excited when Tony’s Chocolonely was spotted in Coles and Woolworths.

Social media users were quick to notice the addition to the chocolate aisle, with many sharing reviews of the $8 sweet treat on TikTok.

“One of the best chocolates ever,” declared popular food blogger @nectoriouspapi in a review.

Coles recently started stocking Tony’s Chocolonely bars and offers four different flavors in 200 stores in 180g blocks, while Woolworths has seven flavors in large blocks for $8.25.

Many Australians raved about the iconic chocolate bar, describing it as “10 times better than Cadbury”.

However, with the current cost of living crisis, its “luxury” price has proved a bit too much for some.

“Good, but not worth the price,” said one.

“It’s crazy but not worth the price,” someone else wrote.

But some have rightly pointed out that it is “expensive because it supports sustainable cocoa farming”.

“The best chocolate. It’s slave-free…and definitely worth the price,” said another.
