Latest sign King Charles refuses to mend bond with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were not invited to the Trooping the Color ceremony for the second year in a row.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not attend the military parade this year, as they did in 2023 after the coronation of King Charles III. People magazine he confirmed.

Trooping the Color is an annual parade that has marked the official birthday celebration of the sitting monarch for over 260 years.

The annual event is expected to take place on June 15.

Although Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020, Queen Elizabeth II still allowed the couple to make a subtle appearance at the Trooping the Color parade in 2022.

The pair were then photographed chatting in the Major General’s Office at Buckingham Palace during the launch event for the Queen’s four-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

However, Harry and Meghan were noticeably absent from Buckingham Palace balcony photos that year, with the Queen instead joined by then-Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children.

Sources told The Post at the time that royal courtiers were said to be concerned that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would steal the monarch’s thunder if they were present for the photo shoot.

Meanwhile, since Charles took over his mother’s royal duties following her death in September 2022, he has apparently taken an even tougher stance on Harry and Meghan’s involvement in royal affairs.

His tough stance began when he decided not to invite the Sussexes to his first Trooping the Colour, held last year. A few months later, he had the pair deleted from the royal family’s website.

Elsewhere, a royal expert claimed it was unlikely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be stripped of their titles.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told The Royal Beat that it is unlikely that Meghan and Prince Harry will be King Charles III.

“I don’t think anything will happen with the titles because Harry will still be a prince of the blood, Meghan, instead of being the Duchess of Sussex, if they lose the titles, [would] to be Princess Henry,” Seward said, according to The Mirror.

She went on to suggest that if the palace stripped the couple of their titles, it could be seen as an “unfriendly” move by the public.

“That would be true [confuse the Americans],” she added. “I mean [it’s] it’s probably best to leave it because it looks unfriendly, it looks unnecessary.”
