Mobile Legends Patch 1.8.88 Update: Revamped Phoveus, Hero and Battlefield Adjustments and more

With the appearance of a new one Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Patch 1.8.88 Update in Advanced server, the developers made some interesting changes to the hero balance, along with revamping Phoveus, the ineffective MLBB fighter-hero. Developers at MOONTON Games have improved Phoveus’ combat performance in his first 3 stages and improved the hit rate of Astaros Eye.

The developers have weakened her control abilities while improving the experience of removing minions with skill 2 or being controlled by enemies.

Attributes (↑)

Max Mana: 1200 >> 1500

Skill 2 (~)

  • New effect: Deals 20% additional damage to minions.
  • New effect: When a skill is interrupted by control effects, the skill indicator stops at its original position. You no longer need to “drag” the skill indicator again after completing the control.
  • Knocks down an enemy in the air for: 1.5s >> 1s

Zhask (Buffed)

Experimental adaptations: The developers hope to increase Nightmaric Spawn’s stability (including damage and control) and untie Zhask’s connection to Inspire, allowing him to use other combat spells.

Skill 1 (↑)

The developers removed the first two basic attacks. Nightmaric Spawn will now constantly release death rays (which count as basic attacks, damage frequency is no longer affected by attack speed).

Chou (Buffed)

The developers have further improved Chou’s mid-game performance.

Passive (↑)

The developers have adjusted the physical defense reduction effect that is applied before the base attack damage increase.

Skill 1 (↑)

Increased dash distance by 20%. Using any two Skill 1 or 2 casts will activate an improved passive basic attack (already effective in the previous patch).

After gathering feedback from various sources, we decided to reduce the cooldown of Moskov’s Skill 2 while maintaining its unique properties.

The developers have restored the effect of basic attacks that can reduce the cooldown of skill 2.

  • Stun Duration: 1.5s >> 1.2s

Aulus (customized)

Currently, the extra damage when attacking Aulus’ basic attacks from his passive can affect turrets and base, causing him to push too fast. In this patch, we fixed this issue and optimized the experience when Aulus played his Ultimate.

The bonus physical damage from basic attacks at the highest stacks of Fighting Spirit no longer works on towers and base.

Bounty system optimization

The Bounty system to end the killing streaks and Team Bounty system have long helped the disadvantaged team catch up to the advantaged team, providing more opportunities for a comeback. However, due to the lack of visuals, many players still don’t understand these mechanics, making it difficult to develop high-reward targeting tactics.

In this patch, we added the display of the current reward amount for each hero on the scoreboard (only displayed if the reward is not less than 120 gold), which indicates the extra gold an assassin can get for taking out that hero. We hope this will help players make better use of this mechanism to plan tactics and ensure victory.

The Killing Spree Bounty increases with the number of consecutive kills the hero makes, but is only awarded to the player who completes the spree. The team reward increases by how much the hero is ahead of the opposing team’s average economy. When the lead hero is killed, the Team Bounty is distributed to all players on the killer’s team.

Battlefield adjustments

  • Optimized visuals of War Cry and Temporal Reign talents in matches.
  • Optimized default battle setting for some heroes.
  • Optimized Jawhead’s passive description to match the actual targets affected.
