Huge search for missing TV doctor Michael Mosley in Greece

A massive search operation is underway in Greece after the disappearance of TV doctor Michael Mosley.

67-year-old Dr. Mosley went missing after he went hiking on the island of Symi on Wednesday.

Police believe that Dr. Mosley “fell from a height” after a walk on St. Nicholas Beach.

His wife, Dr. Clare Bailey, 62, called the police after her husband did not return by 7.30pm.

Local authorities began retracing his path to locate him, but to no avail.

A search and rescue team with drones and other equipment was dispatched from Athens to join the search.

A Facebook community group on Symi shared a photo of Dr. Mosley, wearing a blue polo shirt, cap and sunglasses, and asked for information.

The post reads: “Have you seen this man? He headed back from St Nick’s at about 1.30pm and failed to make it home.

“His friends are worried as it has been 6 hours since they last saw him.

“His name is Dr. Mike Mosley is a familiar face to many Britons, having appeared on the BBC.

“The police and coast guard were informed that EMAK, the island’s rescue team, was also involved.”

Senior police spokeswoman Constantina Dimoglidou said Daily mail the search for the missing doctor is ongoing.

She said: “He was at Ag Beach. Nikolas with another couple when he decided to return to his home in the Pedi of Symi area.

“It was around 1:30 p.m. and he forgot his phone on the beach. Every attempt to trace him has yielded no results.

“Now we asked the firemen for help in the operation, in case he slipped, tripped, fell, was even bitten by a snake, or was injured somewhere.

“There is simply no trace of him. None, and that means that, at least for us, every potential scenario is open and under investigation.”

dr. Mosley is best known for hosting the BBC’s Just One Thing podcast.

He also appeared in SBS Australia’s Sleep Revolution series.
