Seven journalist Robert Ovadia investigated over allegations of inappropriate conduct

Veteran Seven reporter Robert Ovadia is being investigated by network management over allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” towards a woman.

A spokeswoman for the network said on Friday that Mr Ovadia, who worked for Seven for more than 20 years, was “on leave”.

“Seven is conducting an investigation into allegations of misconduct by Roberto Ovadia,” a spokeswoman confirmed.

The two-time Walkley winner is a veteran broadcaster who currently works as an investigative reporter and substitute anchor in the Sydney newsroom.

A spokeswoman for Seven did not elaborate on the details of the alleged misconduct involving Mr Ovadia.

In his own statement, Mr. Ovadia said he would defend the “malicious” allegations.

“Seven has told me that no current or former colleagues have made a complaint against me,” he said in a statement to the ABC.

“As far as I know, I have not been rejected by the company.

“Any suggestion that I have ever acted inappropriately is false, malicious and I will defend it.”
