Charges laid after 25-year-old Morayfield man found stabbed, allegedly murdered in abandoned quarry

Two men have been charged with murder after a 25-year-old man was found dead in an abandoned quarry in Mt Ngungun, about 72km north of Brisbane.

Queensland Police will allege a 19-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from Caboolture, lured a 25-year-old to the Glass House Mountains estate where they allegedly stabbed him to death.

Police believe all three men knew each other.

The 25-year-old from Morayfield went missing on June 4 and was last seen alive on May 28.

His remains were found in an abandoned quarry near Mount Ngungun on Monday, the day his alleged killers were arrested.

Both have been charged with one count each of murder and indecency with a corpse by interference and will appear in Caboolture Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Police say a third man was also detained but released without charge.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is urged to contact Policelink.
