Fortnite Is Unvaulting Trios For Non-Competitive Modes

Earlier this month, Fortnite beat out Trios in what was seen as a rather confusing move by Epic Games, even among those unfamiliar with the game itself. To make matters worse, Epic offered very little explanation as to why Trios were taken away, leaving fans quite angry as many people were forced to play in Squads and forced to find an extra player if they wanted to keep their party together .

However, it appears that this fan backlash may have caused Epic Games to change their mind, as it was just suddenly announced that Trios are no longer deified and will once again be playable in Fortnite. As with the first removal, Epci Games hasn’t explained why it’s bringing back Trios or why it was removed in the first place, but at least now it’s easier to jump into a game of Fortnite with your friends.

There is a catch, however, that shouldn’t irritate players too much. While Trios are now back and ready to play, you won’t be able to jump into a Ranked Battle Royale or Zero Build match, meaning Trios are only available in non-competitive game modes. There’s no sign of that changing with Epic, but there’s also been no sign of Trios coming back at all, so trying to guess what Epic will do next is silly at this point.

Still, it’s great to see such a popular mode making a comeback, even though many thought it was gone forever, and this return will give fans hope that Epic will continue this trend and bring back Kinetic Blade. The weapon was pulled from all modes last week due to a rather unfortunate bug that allowed players to damage and take out opponents from a distance. Many were unhappy with the jumps at the time, although there is still a chance it could come back, just as Trios did.

As for the future of Fortnite, a series of leaks recently revealed that Chapter 4 Season 3 will finally bring us the long-rumored Tropical Theme, along with a collaboration with the Transformers franchise. Those were the only things we could glean from the revealed key art, though further leaks gave us a look at a new volcanic area and other cosmetics. Luckily, we only have to wait until next week for Season 3 to begin.
