Resident Evil Wants To Know Which Remakes Fans Want Next

It’s safe to say that Resident Evil 4 Remake was a resounding success for Capcom, which suggests that there are a lot of fans out there who are happy to revisit the upgraded versions of the classic titles we remember so fondly. After the launch, fans quickly began debating which games in the series Capcom should remake next, something the developer himself is now very interested in.

In a recent survey released by Capcom that asked fans about the series, a number of questions were presented to gauge the general interest of various people in Resident Evil. Most of the questions are fairly standard, except for one towards the end, which just asks which games from the Resident Evil franchise fans would like to see remade, giving contributors a blank comment box instead of a pre-selected list of games.

Considering how popular this Resident Evil 4 Remake is, as well as all the remakes before it, it’s highly likely that Capcom will keep the sauce going if it continues to bring in the money and reviews. However, next on the list is Resident Evil 5, a title that isn’t really as popular as the first four. It’s possible that Capcom could buck its own trend and decide to remake a game outside of the main titles, and a developer simply asking which ones they want to see remakes indicates that they’re open to revisiting titles outside of the numbered games.

Resident Evil Research

The simple and most popular answer is Resident Evil: Code Veronica, a game that takes place after the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 and Claire Redfield visits the Umbrella facility in Paris while searching for her brother Chris. Fans have already expressed their desire for a remake of the title, as has Claire Redfield voice actress Stephanie Panisello herself, who recently told TheGamer that it “could probably use some extra TLC.”

Unfortunately, only Capcom knows what the future holds for the Resident Evil series, as Ethan Winters’ story has been wrapped up in Resident Evil Village, and apparently we won’t be getting another remake for at least a few more years. Given the success and polish of the recent remakes, many fans believe the series should return to third-person for Resident Evil 9, although some feel the first-person perspective is better suited for a slightly better horror game. Either way, Resident Evil is in a great place right now, and it seems like Capcom can do no wrong right now.
