10 Combined quality of life patch
The Combined Quality Of Life Patch is a great way to start your Cassette Beasts modding adventure before delving into more complex tools. As the title suggests, this mod aims to introduce a ton of new settings, toggles, and features requested by the game’s community.
These include the ability to group stickers by item when sorting your inventory, fast travel to campsites, and view high-visibility icons for monsters that have yet to be recorded. The list is even longer than that, with each feature designed to smooth Cassette Beasts’ rough edges.
Video game history is littered with great titles that had the unfortunate luck of being released on cartridges or discs that could only hold so much data, limiting the number of available storage slots. As with many of the best RPGs, Cassette Beasts’ inventory management system can take a while to figure out, especially if you’re trying to be efficient, but luckily mods like Deluxe Inventory speed up the process by helping you find exactly what whatever you are looking for.
Once installed, this mod adds several new sorting methods to the in-game stickers tab, allowing you to search based on alphabet, rarity, item, move type, and random. It also introduces a new button that lets you focus on the first item in the current tab, allowing for quick inventory navigation.
6 Adjusting the refrigerator
One of the best aspects of modding a game like Cassette Beasts is exploring a world of new customization options not available in the base game. A great example of this is Cooler Customization, a mod designed to expand character customization.
Four new hairstyles, one new face and four tops are included to spice up your character’s wardrobe. Additionally, this mode allows you to set clothing colors to match your character’s skin color and access other customization options not available before.

As you progress through the Cassette Beasts story, you may find that your companions struggle to keep up with some late-game monsters. If you want to tip the odds back in your favor, a mod like Better Partners can come in handy when boosting your allies.
It does this by slightly raising their combined stats by about 30 points each. The effects are immediately noticeable without feeling overpowering, and in many cases will only enhance your partners greatest strengths. That being said, characters specializing in a specific area will still overshadow those with undefined roles.
3 Store tapes anywhere
For a game with so many viable combat strategies, Cassette Beasts is surprisingly strict about deciding where and when you can view certain menu items, in this case tape storage. By default, this option is not available in the pause menu.
However, you can change that with the Anywhere Tape Storage mod, which does exactly what it says on the tin: it gives you access to your character’s tape storage by selecting it from a list of other options in the pause menu. Sometimes the smallest improvements in quality of life can go a long way.
2 Unlimited romance
The ability to romance other characters is one of the many areas where Cassette Beasts separates itself from the rest of the monster taming genre. While this mechanic is fun and exciting, it’s not without limits on the number of characters you can try and charm.
If you’re the type of player who enjoys exploring all possible outcomes, then the Unlimited Romance mod will allow you to level the playing field by romancing everyone in the game at the same time. Just remember that your virtual partners will not find out about each other.
1 Unpleasantly shiny
In the world of Pokemon, shiners are considered to be the rarest and most sought after creatures that could be found. So it only makes sense that Cassette Beasts would follow suit by introducing their own shiny tag, assigning both unique forms and stat ranges to special ‘bootleg’ monsters.
Similar to Pokemon, the chances of finding a shiny in Cassette Beasts are very slim, which is when mods like Obnoxiously Shiny come into play. In an interesting twist, this mod reverses the odds of encountering a normal or illegal version, making it more likely that you’ll find a shiny version than a normal one.
