Cyberpunk 2077 has its fair share of Easter eggs lurking in Night City, with familiar and completely obscure references sprinkled throughout. Did you know that in a game as full of pop culture leanings as this one, Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion is hiding out in Night City… sort of?
If you haven’t completed the “Queen Of The Highway” Panama mission, then you still have time to earn this Mortal Kombat reference in the form of a small statue that will become a permanent fixture in V’s apartment. Here’s everything you need to know.
How to find Mortal Kombat’s Easter Egg in Cyberpunk 2077
During the task “Life during the war” some Aldecaldos will be involved in an incident against Kang Tao operatives and combat drones at the crash site, losing their lives after a grueling fight. One of the dead will be Scorpion, a close friend of Panama Palmer. Before you play “Queen of the Highway” search with Panama, go southwest of the nomad camp in the Badlandsand you should get a side quest “I will fly away”.
On this quest, Mitch will be waiting for you on the hill next to the burial ground, and wants your help in honoring the Scorpion who died in battle in the aforementioned mission. Hop in your vehicle and head to this location.
Meet him in the north, where the road meets the edge of the world, to give Scorpion the send off he deserves. Mitch will thank you for your help and give you a decorative gift to send back to V’s apartment.
Now you get the scorpion statue on the table in V’s apartment, but the pose is somewhat familiar to Mortal Kombat fans. It’s based on Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion, not the one you just held a funeral for, and if you scan the statue you will learn that it is from the “KO Kombat” series known as Yellow Jacket Warrior.
