Although it may have a different name, EA Sports FC 24 is the sequel to the cult FIFA series. As such, it will likely follow the series’ tradition of providing some controversial player ratings. To be fair to the developers, they have to give attributes and ratings to countless players. So of course people will disagree with some of the ratings they give.
It doesn’t help that players’ skills fluctuate, as no one can quickly become one of the best in one season. While the following stars were nothing, they turned out to be better than most thought in the 2022-2023 season. As such, they deserve a better rating in EA Sports FC 24.
8 Julian Alvarez (FIFA rating 23 – 79)
Man City’s Julian Alvarez has not started too many Premier League games in the 2022-2023 season. But that was more down to the strength of City’s squad than Alvarez’s ability. After all, he still managed to find the back of the net nine times in the league.
But the biggest argument that it deserves an increase in rating came at the World Cup. The forward was integral to Argentina’s victory, scoring four goals in the tournament. That alone should raise his rating into the 80s.
7 Folarin Balogun (FIFA Rating 23 – 76)
In the 2022–2023 season, Folarin Balogun was loaned to Stade De Reims in the French Ligue One. The team finished a respectable 11th place and Balogun managed to beat most of the players who played in the teams above. In fact, only three people in the league got a better score than him.
So it’s been a very impressive season for the forward, showing movement and finishing plays beyond his years. Perhaps a score of 79 or 80 would be fair for EA Sports FC 24.
6 Moises Caicedo (FIFA rating 23 – 78)
Brighton were one of the many surprise packages in the 2022-23 English Premier League season as they finished an impressive sixth. Since no one expected them to have as brilliant a season as they did, many of their players lost out in the ratings department for FIFA 23.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo was among the most underrated with his 78 points. During Brighton’s stellar season, the lad proved himself to be one of the best all-round midfielders in the league, being equally adept at passing and attacking. Therefore, his rating should be in the 80s.
5 Gabri Veiga (FIFA rating 23 – 71)
When you look at the highest rated players who will be playing in La Liga during FIFA 23, you will mostly see familiar faces from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico. However, they are not the only teams in the league and they certainly do not have all the best players.
Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga has been one of the standouts of the 2022-2023 La Liga season. The youngster managed to keep Vigo from relegation with his silky dribbling and powerful finishing, allowing him to score 11 league goals, including two crucial ones in the final game of the season against Barcelona. That means it probably deserves a score of at least 75.
4 Manuel Ugarte (FIFA rating 23 – 80)
Manuel Ugarte’s stock soared in the 2022-2023 season as his performances for Sporting CP caught the eye. During the season, he proved to be a very skilled defensive-oriented midfielder who is brilliant in winning the ball.
Despite this, he is a truly versatile player as he has also shown excellent dribbling and passing skills. His exploits could not lead Sporting to the Portugal Liga title. However, it should be enough to earn him a slightly better rating in EA Sports FC 24.
3 Alejandro Garnacho (FIFA rating 23 – 70)
The 2022-2023 season will not be considered the best in Manchester United’s illustrious history. They still managed to finish fourth, reach two cup finals and win the Carabao Cup. So it was definitely better than last year.
Man United fans also witnessed the appearance of their ‘star’, Alejandro Garnach. He hasn’t played an incredible amount of games, but the teenager has regularly impressed when he’s stepped onto the pitch. As such, its FIFA 23 rating of 70 is way too low. He should be closing in on the best young wings in the game. So at this stage somewhere between 75 – 79 is more suitable.
2 Alejandro Balde (FIFA rating 23 – 77)
Jordi Alba had the left full-back position locked down at Barcelona for several years. In the 2022-2023 season, however, his grip on the position loosened due to the appearance of youngster Alejandro Balde.
He made his presence known during the season mainly because of his attacking play, as he was a constant thorn in the side of opponents’ right-backs. His speed and crossing ability caused problems for opponents. His talent helped Barcelona win another La Liga title. As such, he deserves to be considered at least an 80 rated player.
1 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (FIFA Rating 23 – 81)
One of the most exciting talents in all of Europe in the 2022-2023 season was Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. While playing for Napoli, he managed to reach double figures in goals and assists as he led his club to their first league title since 1990.
The winger can do almost anything with the ball at his feet. He can dribble around players, provide defense splitting passes and pass the ball to the next from any area. His teammate Victor Osimhen is already well ranked. Kvaratskhelia also deserves a bit of an upgrade.
