Every Safe Location And Their Codes

Dishonored 2 is all about taking on the role of Corvo or Emily and urgently attempting to save the world from the sinister Delilah before it’s too late. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take a detour to loot a few safes along the way, right? Several safes are dotted around the beautiful maps of the Dishonored series, just waiting to be unlocked. It is beneficial for you to find these safes, as they will often include valuable collectibles, such as runes or bone charms.

Unfortunately, these codes are usually randomized. You will need to track down these safe code locations first unless you want to try brute-forcing your way into each safe (and turn Dishonored 2 into a safe-cracking simulator instead). Luckily, the codes are never too far away. They just require a keen eye to spot them.

Updated June 19, 2023, by Luke Ackroyd: Dishonored 2 is a fantastic game that you can spend hours and hours playing due to the variety in which you can complete each mission. It is always tempting after finishing a playthrough to dive back in and try a different chaos level or switch protagonists. But each time you go for a replay, you’ll have to crack Dishonored 2 safe codes yet again. All safe codes in Dishonored 2 change each time you play, so it isn’t a matter of memorizing them for when you find the safe.

You still need to track down the safe combinations from each level first. Luckily, if you are looking for a particular Dishonored 2 safe code, this article has all the information you need to track down every safe code and every safe location. From Vasco’s safe code to the Overseer safe, you can unlock them all and get that valuable loot.

Doctor Galvani’s Safe

The Obtuse Arguments Of Lady Boyle portrait and the three digit code hidden behind it in Dishonored 2

Mission:

A Long Day In Dunwall.

Alternative Mission:

Death To The Empress.

Safe Location:

Doctor Galvani’s apartment.

Safe Code Location:

Doctor Galvani’s apartment (behind a painting).

Safe Contents:

Two Silver Ingots and a pistol.

Nearby Threats:

Guards.

You can find this safe on the first mission of the game: A Long Day In Dunwall. But, if you miss it, it can also be unlocked during the Death To The Empress mission. To find it, you must head to Doctor Galvani’s apartment. This is the building furthest to the left after leaving Dunwall Tower. Just through the doors, you will find Galvani’s laboratory with the safe just waiting to be cracked.

The code is fortunately not very far away at all. Upon the nearby wall is the Obtuse Arguments Of Lady Boyle painting. Swiping this piece of art will reveal the safe’s three-digit code on the wood behind it. Inside the safe, you’ll find two silver ingots and a pistol.

The Overseer Outpost Safe

The Safe next to Strictures book and a note about Strictures To Keep You Safe on a table in Dishonored 2

Mission:

Edge Of The World.

Safe Location:

Third Floor of the Overseer Outpost.

Safe Code Location:

Overseer Outpost – Music box room.

Safe Contents:

A Rune, two silver Ingots, and a raw whalebone.

Nearby Threats:

Multiple Overseers.

You can find the next safe during the Edge Of The World mission. You must make your way to the third floor of the Overseer outpost. The outpost can be heavily guarded, so it’s important to be sneaky if trying to accomplish a non-lethal playthrough. There’s a rune in this safe, so it is worth cracking.

The safe is easy to spot on this floor, but the Edge Of The World safe code is a little tricky. First, you must go into the nearby room that has a music box. A note called Strictures To Keep You Safe will be on the table. This note will list three strictures that you will need to remember. This is the code to the safe. Back in the safe room, a book will number the strictures from one to seven. Link the three strictures to the numbers, and the code will become clear.

Winslow Safe Store’s Safe

Winslow Safe Company's Competition Safe And Competition Sign In Dishonored 2

Mission:

Edge Of The World.

Safe Location:

Winslow Safe Store – Under The Stairs.

Safe Code Location:

Winslow Safe Store – Cash Register.

Safe Contents:

Two Silver Ingots, one Gold Ingot, a Bone charm, and pistol ammo.

Nearby Threats:

A guard and an elite guard outside. But no one in the store will bother you.

You can find a second safe on the Edge Of The World mission. This time, you need to head to the Winslow Safe store, which is right near Addermire station. The safe is below the stairs, with a big sign just asking for it to be cracked. Seriously, it’s a competition.

The Dishonored 2 Winslow Safe Code was supposed to be impossible to guess. Luckily, the easiest solution is to head right to the cash register near the front entrance. Open the register, and the safe shop code has been written down on a piece of parchment inside. Not much of a competition now, but the reward is great. You can find a helpful (or possibly corrupted) bone charm in this safe.

The Safe Near The Addermire Lobby

A safe code note on a table and it's corresponding safe in the same cluttered room in Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Good Doctor.

Safe Location:

To the right of the Main Lobby, in a destroyed room on the floor above.

Safe Code Location:

In the same room as the safe.

Safe Contents:

Combat Sleep Dart Formula Blueprint, Copper Wire, and a Silver Ingot.

Nearby Threats:

There are guards and elite guards in the lobby, but none in the safe room.

While on The Good Doctor mission, a cunning Corvo (or Emily) can turn right when entering the main lobby entrance and climb up to the floor above. Heading around the corner, you will find a mostly destroyed room with a safe inside.

This safe is quite simple to crack, as the Good Doctor safe code is just on the nearby table beneath the rubble. With the code at hand, you can unlock the safe and grab the Combat Sleep Dart Formula blueprint. Oh, and a silver ingot and a copper wire too.

The Safe Near Vasco’s Office

Vasco in bandages Talking To The Player In Final Moments And Vasco's safe Being Decoded In Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Good Doctor.

Safe Location:

End of the Disease Treatment Wing.

Safe Code Location:

Behind the Operating Area.

Safe Contents:

Addermire Solution, Vasco’s Journal, and Vasco’s Lab Key.

Nearby Threats:

Guards, elite guards, bloodflies, and the crown killer.

During The Good Doctor Mission, you can find another safe near Vasco’s office. The office is right at the end of the disease treatment wing. This safe is vital for accomplishing the non-lethal route on this mission, as it contains the key to access the antidote syringe in the nearby laboratory.

To unlock the safe, you will need to speak to Vasco himself. He is located in the same place as Dr. Hypatia. Head to the room behind the operating area to find him on the brink of death. He will willingly tell you the code to his safe. The code is also on a note in his pocket if you were not paying attention to the poor man’s last words.

Correy Brockburn’s Safe

A safe next to a bookshelf and the safe code written on a blackboard with a number smudged in Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Clockwork Mansion.

Safe Location:

The second floor of the apartment building next to the Aventa Station.

Safe Code Location:

On the blackboard outside the safe room.

Safe Contents:

Gathering Of The Regenters note, two Silver Ingots, and a Lucky Sphalerite.

Nearby Threats:

There are howlers and guards outside, but no threats inside the apartment block itself.

You can find Correy Brockburn’s safe during The Clockwork Mansion mission. Near the Aventa station is an alleyway leading to an apartment building in the lower district. Crawl under the For Rent sign to access it. Climb up the stairs to the next floor, go through the first door you see, and the safe will be in a nearby office. This safe will contain a note about the gathering of the Regenters, alongside some ingots and a lucky Sphalerite.

The combination is on the blackboard found just outside the office. A bottle hides the code ever so slightly. Unfortunately, only the first two numbers of Correy Brockburn’s safe code are readable. You will have to spin the final dial a few times to unlock it eventually.

The Safe In The Lecture Hall

A safe next to the remains of a bloodfly nest and the black market store where the code is found in Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Royal Conservatory.

Safe Location:

Inside the condemned Building opposite the Conservatory’s main entrance.

Safe Code Location:

The Black Market Store.

Safe Contents:

Five Silver Ingots, Silver Dust, Pistol, and ammunition.

Nearby Threats:

Howlers outside the Store. Bloodflies and a nest keeper at the safe.

Opposite the Royal Conservatory, during the mission of the same name, there will be a building infested with bloodflies. You can get to the infested lecture hall by jumping across the small gap from the roof of the pub next door and then climbing through the window. Inside the safe, you will find some silver ingots, silver dust, and some more ammunition.

RELATED: Dishonored: Every Blueprint And Where To Find Them

Corvo or Emily must purchase the Royal Conservatory safe code at the black market store for 250 gold. If you are unwilling to pay, you could always attempt to break into the store and steal the code if you prefer. The shop is located in an alleyway not far from the docks you start the mission at. Howlers guard the entrance to the shop, so be careful.

The Time-Traveling Safe

The furnace ready to heat up in the past and the door of a safe on the ground in the present in Dishonored 2

Mission:

A Crack In The Slab.

Safe Location:

The Furnace Room – In the past.

Safe Code Location:

The Furnace Room – In the present.

Safe Contents:

A Bone Charm, a Silver Ingot, Konos Star Tables, and some coins.

Nearby Threats:

Bloodflies in the present.

If an eager Emily (or Corvo) can get to grips with the time-jumping chaos of the A Crack In The Slab mission, there’s another safe to find in the manor. Head to the furnace room, which is to the left of the great hall. Out of all the Dishonored 2 safe combinations, this one involves the most creative method of discovery.

Jumping into the past, you will need to pick up the deceased wolfhound and place them into the furnace to be cremated. This will change the present so that the room is now free of a bloodfly nest. In the nest’s place will stand a looted safe. The code to unlock it is still on the dials of the unhinged door. Head back into the past to find the safe still intact. Enter the code and grab another wonderful bone charm.

Carlos Marletto’s Safe

Carlos' apartment key in the cash register and a portrait of Carlos next to a safe with the code in view in Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Grand Palace.

Key Location:

Winslow Safe Company Store.

Safe Location:

Carlos’ apartment is on the third floor, near the wall of light on Ravina Boulevard.

Safe Code Location:

In the photograph of Carlos in the same apartment.

Safe Contents:

A Silver Ingot, a Gold Ingot, a pistol, and some ammunition.

Nearby Threats:

A guard at the store. More guards and howlers in the streets on the way to the apartment building.

During the Grand Palace mission, you will need to take another trip to a Winslow Safe Company store. You can find this one on the main boulevard. Grab the shopkeeper’s apartment key from the cash register. Next, head to their apartment near the left of the wall of light on Ravina Boulevard.

Inside the apartment, the code to the safe is hidden in plain sight. You need to look at the photograph of Carlos standing before the safe. The code has been entered in the picture. With this surprisingly simple code, you will be able to grab some ammunition, a silver ingot, and a gold ingot.

The First Captain’s Safe

The First Captain's office with a guard at the desk and the note on a desk in the Duke's office in Dishonored 2

Mission:

The Grand Palace.

Safe Location:

The First Captain’s office in the barracks.

Safe Code Location:

The Duke’s office.

Safe Contents:

A rune, two Silver Ingots and a Gold Ingot.

Nearby Threats:

The Duke. Multiple guards of all ranks everywhere. Wolfhounds. Clockwork soldiers, including seemingly inactive clockwork soldiers in the Duke’s office. Do not be fooled.

In the First Captain’s safe, you will be able to find another one of those elusive runes. You can find the safe during the Grand Palace mission. You need to head to the barracks located within the palace opposite the dining hall on the main floor. The first captain’s office will be through here, the safe waiting.

A note near the safe will explain that the Grand Palace safe code has been written on yet another letter upstairs. You will need to head up to the Duke’s office on the floor above. To the left of the Duke’s elegant table will be a far less impressive desk. The note with the safe code will be waiting for you on this desk. With this final code, you can officially call yourself a professional safe-cracker (or a professional note-finder, at least).
