When Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town was released in Japan, we were already thinking about marriage candidates. The original Mineral Town gave us several favorite males and females of the series. The remake even added two new characters that you can eventually marry.
These characters, fun stories and romantic events made us love the iconic Gameboy Advance game even more. Now we can enjoy Mineral Town with upgraded graphics that include the transformation of some of our favorite characters. We reviewed new and old romance options to determine the best romance options in the upcoming remake.
Updated June 27, 2023 by Branden Lizardi: Great news for everyone waiting for a more comfortable way to play Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. The popular remake of the even more popular game Harvest Moon is coming to Xbox Game Pass! If for one reason or another you’ve been waiting to try out the recently released remake of A Wonderful Life, this might be the perfect opportunity to try out a great rendition of one of the most popular Harvest Moon games of all time.
As strange as it is, this male’s name is actually just Doctor. Whether his parents gave him a name for his future or not, he is a hardworking man who cares about Mineral Town. Although this character seems too much into his work for a relationship, love will blossom if you spend enough time with him. Just be sure to visit him at the clinic, as he works six days a week.
Some of the Doctor’s favorite gifts are apples and tomatoes, reflecting his healthy nature. The doctor works at the clinic with Ella, whom he may eventually meet.
Rick is responsible and honest, but he can get very angry, especially if someone tries to get close to his sister Popura. He is the manager of PoPoultry, which he took over after his father ran away and his mother fell ill.
He loves a hot spring egg and can usually be found around the farm. Although he can be overbearing at times, he comes from love.
Kappa resides in a mountain lake, but unlike the harvest goddess, you’ll need to make some sacrifices before she appears, and she’s very special. You’ll have to keep throwing cucumbers into the lake to lure him out.
Again, this is a long-term task that cannot be achieved before age five, and at this point other marriage candidates begin to mate, so make sure this is what you really want.
13 Goddess of the harvest
Marrying a harvest goddess is a big challenge, but it’s doable. If you decide to go this route, make sure you find gifts for her. It’s also worth remembering that her birthday is eight in the spring (or nine if yours is after eight). Gifts on this day are more appreciated.
You can also complete quests that help the process, but this won’t happen before year five, so be prepared to be long on this.
Gray is angry and hails from the city, making him new to a more rural lifestyle. He came to the countryside to learn blacksmithing from his grandfather, but the work only seems to weigh him down even more. Getting to know Gray involves peeling back the layers of his malevolent exterior to learn about the brooding heart beneath.
If you like guys who are rough, then you will definitely fall in love with Gray’s story. Like most of the romantic options on the list, Gray is interested in another single girl named Mary.
Huang is a traveling salesman who takes up residence in Zack’s home. You can buy things from him and eventually sell them. Although he is best known as the person who will buy Van’s favorite, he is also actually a bachelor.
It will take time to unlock interactions with him, but giving gifts in the form of gold or other minerals is very important.
Marie is a shy girl who is an only child. She spends most of her time in the library, where she is employed, and does not have many friends. Her love, Gray, is one of the few people she is close to and is currently helping her write a novel. Her biggest wish is for more people in Mineral Town to visit the library and read the books she cares about most of the time.
If you want to meet a shy girl, then visit the library with gifts in hand. Marie likes to get herbal coffees with milk and tea to relax.
Brandon is a new bachelor added to the game for its remake. He lives in a hardware store in town. Although Brandon seems lazy, he is actually a master artist who is married to his work. He doesn’t venture much into the city and is often found contemplating his latest masterpiece. While Brandon is quiet at first, daily conversation and gift giving can help him warm to you.
If you decide in your heart to spend time learning about Brandon, you may eventually be able to marry him.
Karen is a woman who lives with her parents in Mineral Town. He is a romantic who loves the simple things in life, like long walks on the beach. When she’s not romantic, she can be found having drinking contests at the local pub. Her tasks often revolve around her parents and her friendship with Duke. Most of the time, the player will find themselves in the middle of strange discussions or requests for her heart events.
Many quests will even involve helping her with her love of alcohol. If you don’t date Karen, she will develop a romantic interest in Rick.
As mentioned, Elly works as a doctor’s assistant and takes care of the villagers around her. When she is not at work, she can be found at home taking care of her younger brother and grandmother. She is a kind-hearted woman who is often busy and often goes out of her way to hint to the Doctor about her romantic feelings for him.
To win Elly over, you’ll need to give her gifts every day and talk to her often. Elly likes to receive items like Moon Dumplings and Hot Milk, which quickly increase her heart rate.
6 To live well
You’ll only meet Bon Vivant once a year when he’s judging a cooking show. Being romantic with him is not a task for the faint of heart, as you will never see him again.
If you decide to romance him, Ella leaves are the key to his heart, as well as some good old-fashioned home-cooked meals like apple pie, carbonara and eggs Benedict.
Cliff is a troubled soul who came to Mineral Town looking for a reason for his existence. He is an antisocial bachelor who often hides in the local church and only dares to visit the local pub at night. Cliff loves being given food and his favorite items are pizza and pancakes.
Cliff’s romantic journey will lead to him getting a job at a local winery. However, if the player does not act quickly, he will begin to develop a relationship with Ann.
Jennifer is an interesting addition to the cast of Friends of Mineral Town. Like Gray, she came out of town to start a new life. Instead of settling in the city or living in an inn, however, she brought a tent. You can find Jennifer in the mountains and once you get to know her, you’ll learn that she’s a bit of a free spirit.
While Jennifer prefers to do things as she sees fit, spending time with this newly single girl can warm her up to the idea of a relationship with you.
Kai is one of the more complex characters that is hard to get close to. This is because Kai will only come to Mineral Town during the summer. When he gets to town, he opens a shack by the sea where you can find him working most days. It should be noted that Kai is much lazier than an actor and wants to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.
It can take quite a while to romance Kai, and even if you give him his favorite items, you may not feel his heart gauge quickly enough. If you are willing to wait through several seasons, you can make him your husband.
Popuri is one of the happiest characters in Mineral Town. He lives with his brother Rick and helps take care of his sick mother. Popuria’s personality is extremely bubbly and she doesn’t seem to understand many complex concepts. She likes sweets and can give her ice cream or cake to get her heart rate up quickly.
Popuri is great for anyone who wants a sweet story about a gentle girl. But be warned. If you don’t act fast enough, she’ll end up with Kai, who she’s been in love with since you met her.
Ran is a waitress, cook and maid who works at her father’s inn. She is a toddler, which frustrates her father, Dudley, who thinks it will hurt her chances of finding love. Despite the fact that he forced her to marry, the couple get along well and became especially close after the death of Ran’s mother.
She is very happy, friendly and loves to cook. The hard-working waitress also loves cheese fondue, cheese risotto and pancakes. What else could you want from a partner?
