Mobile game crashes are a common occurrence these days as more and more games are shutting down due to various reasons. The latest to join the ship is none other than Just Cause Mobile, a mobile title based on the hugely popular Just Cause PC, Console title. First aannounced during The Game Awards in December 2020Just Case Mobile was supposed to be released in 2021, but it seems that the development process did not go as expected and brought the game’s shutdown notice.
Fans are not surprised by the shutdown of Just Cause Mobile
With the constant delays happening since 2021, it was kind of inevitable. Just Cause Mobile was originally slated to launch in 2021, then in July 2021, Square Enix announced a further delay until 2022 due to the pandemic.
Just Cause Mobile also entered early access December 2021 first in Singapore and later added more regions in Southeast Asia in April 2022. Then in December 2022, one more announcement mentioned the launch delay again. Now finally the team has officially mentioned the closure of Just Cause Mobile.
In an official statement, Just Cause Mobile Community Manager Anne Lou mentions
“Today we have important news about JUST CAUSE MOBILE. It is with great sadness that we announce the end of development for JUST CAUSE MOBILE. As of tomorrow, July 3rd, 2023, the game will no longer be available in digital stores. It’s never easy to make an announcement like this, especially to our fans who have been waiting for the release. We sincerely appreciate the support you have given us.”

Surviving in the mobile gaming industry is getting harder every day, and it’s no surprise. Going by the official statement, the development has not gone well for the company. They also mentioned that whoever made a transaction (purchased blue diamonds) during Regional Early Access will get a refund to their Google Play account.
