The Arc Raiders' Headwinds update brought a lot of new things to the game, including a solo vs. squads, a trophy display project, new upgrades and lots of rubber ducks. However, as with any video game update, some things didn't go as planned. Players reported a drastic increase in loot detection time even when they had the Looter's Luck skill.
Some players even thought that Embark secretly made the nerf without including it in the patch notes. The developers have now revealed that the loot reveal time was increased randomly and was not part of the original plan. Developer Embark wrote on the game's discord channel that the team is aware of this and it was unintentional.
Loot detection time has been randomly increased
If you happened to go up right after the Arc Raiders' Headwinds update went live, you may have noticed that the loot icons took longer than usual to appear. Unlike other games, Arc Raiders reveals its loot one by one to build tension and simulate a quest. It seems that this nerf was not part of the plan (thanks to GamesRadar), as community manager Birdie wrote: “The team is aware of this as it is not intended.”
This means we'll likely see a hotfix soon to fix the problem. Looting is a staple of Arc Raiders, and changing the speed at which loot is revealed will certainly ruffle a few feathers. There are already a few posts on the game's subreddit complaining about this, but knowing it was a fluke puts things to rest.
Fighting the queen just got easier with this simple Arc Raiders tactic
Don't bow down to the queen.
The biggest change the update brings is the new solo vs squads mode, where raiders above level 40 will be able to join a squad queue to gain a numerical disadvantage. Doing so will give you an additional 20 percent bonus experience after completing the round. So if you love your raiding skills, this mode is for you. You may want to wait a while for the loot reveal time to be fixed first.
