For the most part, Arc Raiders is a fairly serious game. It's all about infiltrating a hostile environment filled with deadly robots and other players out to betray you, but that doesn't mean developers Embark Studios can't get a little whimsical now and then. We all know about the love of rubber ducks, and when the game first launched, you couldn't move because players were playing with flutes.

Almost two months after the game's release, Arc Raiders now has a new musical instrument for players to play with, this time an acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, actually grabbing this tool has proven to be too much of a task for many people, as it requires solving a fairly complex puzzle involving over a dozen random buttons found throughout the buried city.

All you really have to do is activate all of these buttons in the correct order, but if you hit the wrong one, the whole puzzle will reset. Not so bad, you might think, but remember you're playing a multiplayer game. Not only do you have to deal with suing people, but you can always just have some nosy bozo walk by and press a random button to reset your progress.

As a result, the Arc Raiders subreddit is full of horror stories about how they actually tried to get hold of that one acoustic guitar. For example, a user named Iki-u claims to have spent “9 hours straight” trying to successfully complete the puzzle. In the responses, they go on to admit that they were “pretty pissed off” about the challenge, but “it was worth all the pain.”

Another user named Teeeeedot admits to spending eight hours getting it too, while less resilient players like Any-Value1142 gave up because random players broke the puzzle before they could complete it. Even funnier is that you have a lot of people admitting to pressing random buttons they found without knowing what they actually did. Now they know they have most likely ruined someone's day.

It's such a rough puzzle that many say it's probably impossible to do completely solo, but if you don't have any friends and are willing to get your hands dirty, there's a very easy way to get a guitar. As a Reddit user named Thomass2s pointed out, all you really need to do is track the sounds of an acoustic guitar and copulate the person you see holding it. Sure, you're a terrible person and I don't know how you could sleep at night, but hey, you'd have a guitar!
