ARC Raiders reveals plans to “reduce friction” in future updates

Embark Studios provides more details on the recent crafting changes in ARC Raiderswhile also teasing other plans to further reduce friction inside the ejector missile. As the name suggests, live service games keep evolving over time with constant updates. in this sense ARC Raiders is no exception, having received plenty of new content and a steady stream of updates since the game's original launch in 2025.

In fact, Flashpoint updates for ARC Raiders was another major patch for the game that added a new map condition called Close Scrutiny, new pursuit weapons like the Dolabra energy shotgun, and more. In fact, players will now find a new game event on maps with Close Scrutiny active as they battle to get loot from a new device called the Assessor. However, it's harder than it sounds, as they'll have to fight the newest machine enemy called the Vaporizer. Additionally, the Shredders, once locked away in Stella Montis, have seemingly escaped and are now populating other maps in the game.

ARC Raiders players shouldn't sleep on the new Scrappy update

The new ARC Raiders update brings some big changes to Scrappy's Rooster that players won't want to sleep on as there are some valuable items up for grabs.

ARC Raiders addressing additional friction points for players

One of the great improvements in the quality of life for ARC Raiders in the flashpoint update there was crafting. An improved user interface now allows players to quickly acquire materials directly from the crafting perspective, in addition to being able to recycle, modify or purchase them, helping to further reduce the time it takes to be in menus and screens. This change was largely due to player feedback after many stated that crafting was not intuitive enough, causing more work than necessary.

In an accompanying blog post, Embark detailed the crafting changes, including a simplified Get Resources button that was added. Selecting this option on the crafting screen will now list all available resources, whether from the player's storage inventory, materials that can be recycled, or can be purchased from Celeste's shop. It gives players the ability to act instantly without having to search through many different screens and menus, a common problem that many have reported to Embark.

In fact, Embark makes it clear through this blog post that this simplified craft is just the beginning. Towards the bottom of the post, Embark teases that it is looking at other pain points that players have reported. Embark admitted that one button won't fix everything wrong ARC Raiders currently, but more changes are on the way as the studio continues to troubleshoot and more information will be released soon.

One of the main areas that Embark will focus on is likely to be s ARC Raiders' end content menu. Just recently, production director Caio Braga admitted that the studio wants more for players who have reached the end of the content, potentially offering more challenging content to tackle. It's possible that players could get their first taste of these plans later this month when the Riven Tides update is released. According to the roadmap, players will get a new map (most likely Volcano Rise), fitness, as well as a large ARC to fight in, with many speculating that this could indeed be the rumored Emperor.
