For example, Shanks, despite being shown at the very beginning of the story, was saved by Oda until the very end. Similarly, Imu was not revealed until Reverie began, and the Dragon's Devil Fruit abilities, despite being teased in chapter 100 of the story, are also saved for the Final Saga.

The dragon must be a master of all three types of Haki, given that he is the son of Garp and the father of Luffy. More than that, his Devil Fruit powers, which allow him to cause storms and manipulate the weather to a great extent, make him a natural disaster.
