Assassin's Creed Shadows Developer says

Despite relaxing in the turbulent circumstances for Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed Shadows was a huge hit for the company. With commercial insufficient performance Star Wars Outlaws, Shadows could just save the current iteration Ubisoft.

Shadows managed the second most sales in the series (after Valhalle), ensuring the place among the most successful items of the series. However, one iconic foundation of the series was completely missing in the shadow: social secrecy.

Social secrecy could return

In the Universe of Assassin's Creed, you have always been able to integrate into a group of walking and/or talking NPC as a means to remain invisible. You may think a premonition, a strangely dressed character that suddenly joined your conversational circle would be the cause of the alarm, but in fact there is nothing to worry about, because they are probably hunting the Pope or something.

In the recent Ask-Me-EventHing on Reddit (Nice Spot, Gamesradar+), Ubisoft developers “Simon, Andre & Luc” answered the shadow questions and plans after launching the title for the title.

One player said they were disappointed when they realized that social secrecy was not in the shadow, because he considered it “essential for the identity of the game”. Simon replied to a promising fan and said that social secrecy could return in the future.

“For Shadows, our Stealth team decided to give 100 percent of its energy for a moment tactical shinobi experience that left no room for social secrecy,” Simon writes. “But that doesn't mean social secrecy is gone from the franchise!”

The thread is full of interesting consequences for the future of shadows. For example, we will see more assassination conflicts of Assassins versus Templars who are played in content after starting for shadows.

“The conflict of Assassins vs Templars has always been the main pillar of Assassin's Creed,” writes Luc. “With the shadows, we wanted to correctly set our protagonists in the environment before we expanded with Assassins vs Templars. Now that this is happening in the main game, we scratched the surface with a decrease in the story of a critical role and in the future you can expect more deep dive in conflict.

Andre also revealed that Ubisoft Quebec shares a dynamic seasonal Shadows system with other studios owned by Ubisoft, so we may expect to see dynamic periods and weather in future installments.
