Battlefield 6 was a huge hit for EA, with former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick even citing it as one of the main reasons behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's lackluster performance this year.
With a debut peak of 747,000 concurrent players, it was by far the strongest opening in the franchise, but with aggressive monetization, AI-generated artwork, small maps, buggy updates, and the delay of Season 2, the game quickly lost that momentum.
Battlefield 6 also lags behind Gemotery Dash, Stardew Valley and Rust
Right now, it has a 24-hour concurrent peak of 89,932 on Steam, and while that's nothing to scoff at, that's an 88 percent drop in just four months. To put it into perspective, below are the 20 most played games on the platform in the last 24 hours.

6. Rust (189 KB)
7. Marvel Rivals (168k)

9. Wallpaper Engine (143 KB)
10. Delta Force (131k)

11. Stardew Valley (129k)
12. Grand Theft Auto 5 Legacy (121 KB)

17. War Thunder (98k)
18. EA Sports FC 26 (93 KB)
19. Battlefield 6 (89 KB)
20. Elden Ring Nighreign (87k)
Battlefield 6 is in last place with Elden Ring Nightreign and risks dropping out of the top 20 as Naraka: Bladepoint and REPO close in on them.
And that includes figures from the free-to-play battle royale RedSec.
However, it's not just a hemorrhaging player base that Battlefield Studios has to contend with in the coming year, as the game's recent Steam rating has also been plummeting, sitting at 'Mixed' with 14,115 items at the time of writing.
To put it mildly, Season 2 has a lot to prove, players are still waiting for bigger maps, bug fixes and more rewarding progression, clearly losing patience with the current state of the game.
