Astra Malorum Easter Egg Walkthrough – CoD BO7
Here's an easy step-by-step guide to walk you through the main Easter Egg Quest for Astra Malorum in Black Ops 7 Zombies!
The best weapons for Astra Malorum
The M34 Novaline is the best meta weapon for Astra Malorum for several reasons. This Marksman rifle already packs a lethal punch, but when you Pack-a-Punch it, it becomes a fully automatic combination sniper rifle and assault rifle. It has the best raw damage numbers, amazing damage range, fire rate and stack size to support any player. Here are the attachments you'll want to run to get the most out of the M34 Novaline:
|
Attachment |
Why is it useful? |
|---|---|
|
Titan-R 7.62 compensator (muzzle) |
Improves hipfire spread, glide to fire speed, dive fire speed and tactical stance speed. You'll want to run and shoot while sliding, so doing this while shooting and limiting bullet spread is great. |
|
17″ B-1 Hybrid Barrel |
Increases damage range and projectile speed to hit enemies harder and from a greater distance. |
|
Grip EAM Steady-90 (bottom) |
Increases horizontal recoil control, sprint movement speed, and movement speed. |
|
Bowen 762 Extended Mag (magazine) |
Increase ammo capacity to 30, which is great for aggressive, constant fire without reloading. |
|
Cougar Draw Grip (Back Grip) |
Improves downward aim speed and downward jump aim speed. The boss arena has plenty of opportunities to target critical spots and use anti-gravity jumps. |
|
Mil-Spec Light Stock |
Increases hipfire movement speed, movement speed and strafing speed. |
|
1mW laser field Instinct (laser) |
Increases aiming speed and fire rate. |
|
7.62 NATO FMJ (Fire Mods) |
Increases penetration power to break through armored enemies. The boss also has armor. |
The Astra Malorum Wonder Weapon, LGM-1, is also essential for the boss fight. You can fire the LGM-1 and it will seek out targets, continuously damage them and return to your weapon to ensure you never have to buy ammo again.
The LGM-1 is great for running and shooting and can actually be used with the Stock OptionGobbleGum and the Frenzied Guard Field Upgrade with the Frenzy Fire Augment to shoot endless UFOs that tear apart bosses in seconds!
Best GobbleGums for Astra Malorum
GobbleGums aren't required for any easter egg or boss fight, but they definitely add a unique perk. If you have GobbleGums to spare, you should use these three for the boss fight:
|
GobbleGum |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Power Keg |
Triggers the full power of the Power-Up. |
|
Shields up |
Refill armor when used. Armor is twice as strong. (Lasts 3 minutes) |
|
Stock option |
Ammo is taken from the player's inventory instead of the weapon's magazine. (Lasts 60 seconds) |
The Stock Option is the most important GobbleGum here, as it allows you to fire from your stock instead of the magazine. The Stock Option can provide infinite ammo for the LGM-1 to crush the bossbut if it's fixed it will also give you unlimited bullets for your primary weapon to really cut through the boss.
The Power Keg helps ensure that you always have a field upgrade ready, which should be reserved for your escape when things get too hectic, or for using another berserk guard to regain infinite ammo. Shields Up is also great because the boss will easily rip through your shields, so having a way to get stronger shields when you're in a pinch really helps.
Core benefits for Astra Malorum
You really can't go wrong with having every Perk before you start the boss fight. However, there are a few that are much more useful than others, and you'll want to grab them along with these expansions for a better chance of survival:
|
Decorate |

|

Guns Up Footwork |
Shoot while sprinting and increase your sprint speed to stay mobile and agile at all times. |
|

|
Deadshot Daiquiri |
Dead center Dead Break Dead heat |
Gives extra critical hit damage and bonus melee damage, along with extra damage to armor pieces (which the boss has) and increases movement speed on spot kills to keep you moving. |
|
Double tap |
Double seller Double time |
Every fourth bullet fired will deal double damage and your weapon's rate of fire will further increase to ensure you have the best DPS. |
Again, all perks have their uses in boss fights, but these specific ones and their buffs will really help you feel stronger and keep you alive longer, as you'll want extra health, extra DPS, and staying on the move.
Best Field Enhancement (and expansion for Astra Malorum)
|
Extend |
Why is it useful? |
|---|---|
|
Frenzy Fire (Major) |
It allows you to use ammo from your stockpile, so you can fire your LGM-1 and your primary weapon endlessly. |
|
Extension (smaller) |
Increase the duration of Frenzied Guard to maintain armor and keep firing. |
We recommend Frenzied Guard for the Astra Malorum boss fight. Aether Shroud is still a great option, especially with Extra Charge and Extension Augments, as the boss and other zombies will ignore you while it's activated. However, the boss has several splash damage attacks that can still hurt you. That's why we chose Frenzied Guard so that your armor takes the brunt of all the damage, and with the Frenzy Fire Augment you can keep firing for maximum damage.
It's also worth noting that the Astra Malorum boss isn't weak to any Ammo Mod, but we recommend running Fire Works as it can help kill zombies instantly when activated.
Astra Malorum boss fight tips
Here are some helpful tips to help you beat the Astra Malorum boss fight:
-
In the first stage, focus on staying on the move and killing zombies to charge the pillars, then after they are charged, interact with the brain and shoot lasers at the boss. This is the only way to deal damage in the first phase.
-
Bring Stim Shots to heal yourself as the boss can deal lethal damage with the rocks she throws.
-
Stay on the move and weave between pillars and walls to avoid the boss hitting you with thrown rocks.
-
Focus on using the LGM-1 as it will swarm the boss and deal decent damage while you stay on the move.
-
Keep moving and only shoot when you are a safe distance away from the boss. When you shoot, target one of her pieces to destroy her armor and reveal her blue critical spots that deal massive damage.
-
Use Frenzied Guard on the Caltheris second stage and spam LGM-1 to endlessly shoot the UFOs that pile up damage.
-
Buy ammo for LGM-1 and then use the exchange for the third stage (Caltheris Ascendary)
-
Buy ammo for LGM-1 and then use Power Keg, then Frenzied Guard on Caltheris the Needle (fourth stage) to spam and get a quick kill.
