Big changes to Fortnite Crew are coming in June 2026

Fortnite is making changes to its economy and the number of V-Bucks distributed in the monthly Crew Pack will drop soon. FortniteThe in-game currency V-Bucks allows players to purchase cosmetic items in the daily shop, shop on player-created islands, or obtain a Battle Pass, LEGO Pass, Music Pass, or OG Pass. So even though it is a free-to-play game, players can use this currency to customize the gaming experience to their liking.

Fortnite has a large player base and many of its fans have spent money on V-Bucks packs at some point in the game. The price of V-Bucks has changed several times over the years, which has been somewhat controversial among the community. Recently, Epic Games announced that they will not change the price of V-Buck packs, but will provide significantly less in-game currency. This phenomenon is known as shrinkflation, and it's a tactic used to try to increase the price of a product without causing too much of an uproar in the community because it doesn't sound as bad as raising the price.

Players can spend their V-Bucks on Creative maps in Fortnite, but there is a difference from using them on the Item Shop or BP.

Fortnite Crew Pack players will receive 200 V-Bucks less per month starting June 2026

It's not just V-Buck packs that are affected by the shrink Fortnite. In June 2026 Fortnite Crew subscribers will receive 800 V-Bucks per month instead of the 1,000 V-Bucks they received previously. Epic Games notified players of these changes in an email and let them know that they will not take effect immediately. Perhaps this was to give them some time to think about whether they would renew their subscription at the end of the month or not.

Players may think that this means they are technically getting the same value in V-Bucks as before, as the Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass has dropped in price and the former 1,000 V-Bucks pack gives 800 V-Bucks. However, the prices of cosmetics in the Item Shop did not drop. Unfortunately, because of these changes, subscribers won't have as much purchasing power Fortniteand the Crew Pack won't benefit them as much as before.

For years, fans debated whether Fortnite Crew Pack is worth it or not. To become a member of the Crew Pack, players must pay $11.99 or be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber. They receive a beauty kit every month. When the subscription is active, they will have access to all packages in Fortnite, and whenever membership is renewed and payment is made, they will receive 1,000 V-Bucks. For fans who play Fortnite Regular and tend to buy cosmetics and unlock all items, it might be worth it even if they get 200 V-Bucks less.

With the price changes made to V-Bucks, it now costs $4 to buy 200 V-Bucks. 200 V-Bucks may not seem like a lot at first glance, but it adds up. Players who renew their subscriptions every month of the year will lose a total of 2,400 V-Bucks, which is more money than they might expect. Since a pack of 2,400 V-Bucks costs $22.99, these changes reduce the value of the Crew Pack by that much per year. This change may eventually cause some players to cancel their Crew Pack subscriptions Fortnite.
