Fans of first-person shooters had several games available in 2025. Battlefield 6 has been tearing up the charts lately with its impressive multiplayer modes and bombastic campaign. EA also launched a free-to-play Battle Royale game in the series titled Battlefield REDSEC.
Shooter fans can also check out an impressive set of modes soon Call of Duty: Black Ops 7and for a more targeted campaign Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is on the way. That's about it for shooters for 2025, but 2026 will have plenty to offer as well. While games like Judas and Crisol: Theater of Idols could come out in 2026, they're not sure bets, while these other games are.

The first major first-person shooter game planned for 2026 is High On Life 2. The original game was a surprise hit when it was released in 2022, thanks to its quirky humor and strange talking weapons. It looks like the same wise weapons will return in the sequel along with new ones.
Despite the game having a release date, there are still a lot of unknowns. It will again be somewhat open, or more segmented like a Call of Duty campaign? Whatever the case, fans can expect High On Life 2 to be the next freak shooter and that's all that matters.

Mouse: PI For Hire is a shooter for fans Cupheadlooking for another great hand-drawn experience, following the cartoons of the 1930s. Players take on the role of private detective Jack on the hunt for gangsters across the city.
Jack will be voiced by a prominent gaming industry voice actor, Troy Baker, so expect the game to have some oomph. In addition to shooting, it looks like players can punch enemies, throw dynamite, and take pictures. There certainly won't be anything else Mouse: PI For Hire in 2026

Halo: Combat Evolved was released in 2001 alongside the original Xbox and celebrated its first major anniversary with a remaster in 2011, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary 2011. 15 years later, the original is updated again through a full remake titled Halo: Campaign Evolved.
The remake will also appear on PS5, which is a huge step for it Halo franchise. There will be no multiplayer, but players can go through the entire updated campaign with three other friends online. While the loss of multiplayer is a shame, it's definitely something that could be added later. for now Halo: Campaign Evolved is something worth celebrating for fans of the original campaign.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is an FPS for those who miss the shooter days of the 90s Fate and Wolfenstein 3-D. Nowadays, retro shooters that harken back to the glory days of continuous shooting are categorized as “Boomer Shooters”, which is funny and apt.
Like the original 2023 game, this sequel will feature sprite-based models in a fully 3D environment. It will have a lot of classics Warhammer franchise weapons, from rifles that shoot bolts to chainsaw swords. For anyone who missed the original game, you should play it now to catch up early Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 decreases in 2026.

Valor Mortis takes place in a messed up version of what appears to be the French Revolutionary War. As a deserter from Napoleon's army, players are just trying to survive as countrymen and the enemies around them have started to mutate. They transform into creatures that make this historical fantasy game feel like a soul-like adventure.
It's not exactly a shooter, but Valor Mortis will give players plenty of weapons to defend themselves with, from pistols to rifles. There will also be melee weapons like swords, and it looks like there will be magic or some kind of power involved.

Valor Mortis it has horror vibes but Animal use protocol will be pure first-person horror. Players wake up as a chimp named Penn who can talk. It seems the lab he grew up in is destroyed and his animals are now monsters looking to feed.
However, Penn is not alone as he has a mouse companion who appears to communicate via a Tamagotchi-like device. This unconventional matchmaking, weapon loading, and setup help Animal use protocol stand out and should bring some scary vibes when it launches next year, and hopefully on more than just PC.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a sequel to the original game that opened in 2021. It was a World War 2 shooter, while this sequel will be set in Vietnam and allow players to fight for both sides of the conflict. It will feature 50v50 multiplayer matches across giant maps and multiple modes.
It's almost like the Vietnamese version Battlefield 6complete with plenty of weapons and troop classes to try out. A campaign would be nice, but multiplayer fans will at least have a nice meal Hell Let Loose: Vietnam comes out.
