Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 tells its most dedicated players to touch the Grass
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has a hidden joke in one of its achievements that tells some of the toughest players to touch the grass.
Black Ops 7's first mid-season update is 174GB on Battle.net
As we approach the halfway point of Season 1, Activision and Treyarch are gearing up to release a mid-season update with Call of DutyBig Reloaded Season 1 Update. It's now been confirmed that the update will launch on Thursday, January 8th, but some players are able to pre-load the patch right now and it's absolutely massive. Some users are reporting that the update file size on Battle.net exceeds 174GB. It's unclear why players are required to download such a massive update, but there are a few caveats to this massive update. The size of the patch will vary by platform and will also vary depending on what players have installed. For those who just play Warzone and not have Black Ops 7 installed, the size of the update will likely be much smaller.
Other than a short trailer introducing the new maps that will launch alongside Season 1 of Reloaded, other details are currently unknown. Fortunately, a blog post detailing the update is expected to arrive tomorrow, January 7th. It is currently known that a brand new map known as Jakei, set on the neon-lit rooftops of Japan, will be added as part of the mid-season update. There's also more nostalgia on the way, as Season 1 Reloaded will also feature two more remastered maps. The first one is Fringe, iconic Black Ops 3 map and Meltdown, and Black Ops 2 a map that has never been remastered before.
It's not the first time Call of Duty it has a huge file size for one of its major updates and it probably won't be the last. The franchise has become a bit of a running joke in recent years because of how controversial it is Call of Duty The HQ app takes up a lot of space on players' hard drives if they have multiple packs and titles installed. While new entries in the series were once their own standalone apps, PlayStation, Xbox and PC users are now forced to navigate a clunky user interface Call of Duty HQ, a unified application that currently contains Warzone, Black Ops 6and Black Ops 7. 2022 Modern Warfare 2 and its continuation, Modern Warfare 3were recently removed from the app and can now be downloaded as separate titles.
With launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 barely makes a dent in the Call of Duty HQ players rely on Steam, many fans probably won't want to return to the franchise with a 174GB update. After numerous controversies surrounding cosmetic items, cheats and lackluster updates Black Ops 6's life cycle, it seems to have had a serious knock-on effect Black Ops 7as the latest record in the series was beaten Battlefield 6 this year.
