New update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fixed one of its most controversial issues related to the shooter's new Endgame mode. Before the latest update, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players were experiencing an incredibly frustrating issue that resulted in them losing progress if they were unexpectedly disconnected. Developer Treyarch Studios says it has now added a new protection feature to prevent players from losing huge amounts of progress, which seems to have pleased a large part of the community.
With launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 earlier this month, Treyarch Studios continued the development of the franchise with another new mode for players to dive into: Endgame. It's unclear whether or not this mode will be available in all new titles, but this year it gave players even more content to try out. For those who may not know, Endgame is a new PvE extraction style mode that allows players to jump into Avalon with 31 other players and complete objectives, secure gear, and then exfil. What fans have come to love about this mode is that it's a great way to level up your weapons and progress through challenges without having to figure out multiplayer or zombies.

Black Ops 7 adds disconnection protection to Endgame
While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7While the new Endgame mode has received a positive reception from fans, a serious issue has caused considerable community frustration. Previously, players who were suddenly disconnected from Endgame lost a huge amount of progress, but the new update has now added another layer of protection that should make this issue a thing of the past. Developer Treyarch Studios says the game will now record a player's combat rating when they jump into an Endgame match, and if an unexpected disconnect occurs, players will start their next match at the combat rating they entered the previous match at. However, since this is an extraction-based mode, players will still lose their progress if they fail to exfiltrate during a match.
This was a major problem for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players as many have reported losing a large number of Combat Rating levels due to accidental disconnection. One Reddit user even claimed to have lost his battle rating at level 60 after his Wi-Fi disconnected while they were still in a match. The player says they lost hours of progress and notes that it was unfair to be punished for something that was out of their control. Another user even said they were kicked back into the lobby three times in a single day, with their combat rating reset to 0 each time.
So it's no surprise that fans are excited to see Treyarch implement this change as part of the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update. “Thank you so much,” one fan replied. They explained how they live in South Africa and have regular blackouts, meaning they experience disconnections far more than the average gamer. Another player said they were “still worried” it would be a common problem after it happened to them, but praised Treyarch for the quick fix.
This is a much-needed change that will likely make fans much less reluctant to jump into Endgame now that they know their progress isn't in jeopardy if they accidentally disconnect. It also comes at a perfect time as Treyarch Studios recently decided to make Endgame available to everyone Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players. Previously, the mode was locked behind the shooter's new co-op campaign, meaning it was only accessible after completing the campaign. However, as the developer stated that the mode was generally received positively, it decided to make Endgame available to everyone from November 21st.
