The trailer for Borderlands 4 teases its setting
Borderlands 4 has been confirmed to take place on a new planet
At first glance, the planet shown in Borderlands 4 the trailer looks like it could be Promethea, a place that has been highly requested to return since its debut in Borderlands 3. These demands are justified, after all, because Promethea offered players an environment far different from the sands of Pandora they were familiar with. It is also natural to assume that it could be Promethea because of the appearance of planet v Border movie a New stories from the borderlands. However, some key details, including an official confirmation, seem to suggest otherwise.
First, it's worth noting that the skyscrapers that appear on the planet look like they could be Promethea, but their design is a bit more solid than what players can find on Promethea. Moreover, the planet shown in Borderlands 4 the trailer is very lush and green, only the exterior of Prometheus has greenery and less than what is shown in the trailer. All in all, no planet has ever been listed in the Border series that bears this appearance. Moreover, Gearbox directly confirmed this Borderlands 4 will take place on an entirely new planet, which seems to nip in the bud the possibility that the planet featured in the trailer is Promethea.
That being said, if the planet shown in the trailer is the new planet the game takes place on, it confirms the biome for
Borderlands 4
a setting that, like Promethea before it, can be a refreshing departure from the desert lands of Pandora.
Borderlands 4 may involve some kind of multidimensional travel
One more thing to note about Borderlands 4 the trailer happens as Elpis appears out of nowhere via Lilith teleporting to the moon at the end of the year Borderlands 3 to prevent Pandora from being torn apart. Most interestingly, Elpis appears to be tearing a hole in space, possibly opening a wormhole to another dimension in the process. It is possible that the players of the new planet will be visiting Borderlands 4 is the Eridian homeworld of Nekrotafeyo in another reality, possibly before its desecration. However, as it turned out Borderlands 4The game takes place on a brand new planet, unless Gearbox means “new” because players have never seen Nekrotafeyo this way before, it's probably not the Eridian homeworld and it's a brand new place.
Whatever the case, Lilith seems to have somehow teleported Elpis to the point where she rips a hole in the fabric of time and opens a gateway to another world. Is it really a prerequisite Borderlands 4 remains to be seen, but it can be assumed that more Border the game will likely see players reunited with Lilith at some point. Until Borderlands 4It will probably remain a guess at the next reveal.
