Bungie Nerfs Popular Farming Spot Destiny 2 Renegades

Bungie has made it very expensive to interact with Tharsis Outpost junk sellers while the studio works on a proper and more permanent fix for the popular Fate 2 farm place. The expansion was largely well received by players and added fully licensed but technically non-Star Wars content. Fate 2. Either way, players were able to explore new content and areas in the expansion, and even found a player-friendly glitch along the way.

Tharsis Outpost is a new social space for Fate 2An extension of the Renegade modeled after the traditional one Star Wars Cantina locations like the one in Mos Eisley. It is here that players can interact with the various factions, as well as the returning NPC Spider, while completing quests and spending their credits on new equipment at various vendors. However, it seems that players have found a convenient way to earn impressive but random gear at a much lower cost.

Destiny 2 reveals full patch notes for Renegades expansion

Destiny 2 is releasing its highly-anticipated Renegades expansion alongside a massive update that adds significant player-friendly changes.

Destiny 2 junk sellers are now much more expensive

While exploring space, players have other places to spend their hard-earned credits outside of the trio Fate 2 A faction of the Renegades Syndicate. While appearing seemingly randomly on the Tharsis Outpost map, players can find an NPC character that looks like Eliksni Dreg lying on the ground. Through this junk vendor, players could spend 100 credits to purchase random “junk” or loot, which ranged from useless items like a “miniature broom” to the highly sought-after piece of Refraction Core for the Praxic Blade.

Players were also seemingly earning armor sets, from level 3 all the way up to level 5, which also dropped with some really weird and, some might call illegal, stats. Players noticed that armor usually dropped with 2 stat spikes for things that don't normally go together on normal loot. It's likely that because of this, as well as trying to protect fairness for the upcoming Equilibrium dungeon race, Bungie has massively increased the cost of doing business with these vendors to 7,777,777 credits, an amount that is out of reach for most, if not all, players. The price will remain in place until a more permanent fix can be applied.

The reaction to the change seemed to frustrate most players, who once again called out Bungie for removing the fun aspect of the game. Many were disappointed to lose the easy way to unlock Fate 2's Refraction Core for the Praxic Blade exotic sword, which has a random chance to drop after purchasing from the Exchange. Others have pointed out that aside from the potentially problematic state of illegal armor values, the other big problem is that armor can suddenly fall off and for those without room, it can easily flood your Postmaster and displace any potential stored items entirely.

Even Fate 2 Renegade is being received much more positively than The Edge of Fate, so there remains uneasiness about the game's future due to the continued decline in player numbers. Bungie revealed a limited Fate 2 plan, but as far as longer-term plans go, not much is known yet. Destiny 3 is still rumored to be in early development at Bungie at the moment, though an official announcement is likely a long way off ahead of Bungie's upcoming launch. Marathon in 2026.
