In case you missed it, this year's annual Call of Duty, Black Ops 7, is officially out in the wild. Unfortunately, things surrounding Black Ops 7 couldn't be more negative, from its “Mixed” reviews on Steam (thanks to its subpar campaign) to its sales, specifically in Europe, where Battlefield 6 ate Call of Duty's lunch and then some.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7's campaign is the worst thing I've played this year
The single player campaign in Black Ops 7 is a profound waste of your time.
However, for people playing Black Ops 7, things are seemingly happening good, some people actually enjoy the game. Case in point: this fan who discovered that the “Imprint” map, one of the 19 available BO7 maps, is actively tracking the number of times players have fallen off the map to their unfortunate demise.
As first shared on Reddit, there is a “Falls Today” counter that will increment whenever a fall is recorded in the game. As one user pointed out, there's room for up to four digits, meaning Treyarch et al. they've planned for an absurd number of crashes, although it doesn't look like anyone's tested it yet.
“LOL? Now I have the urge to check it every time,” wrote one user on Reddit.
Same!
This isn't the first map-related easter egg in recent Call of Duty history
Last year when Black Ops 6 coincidentally another Treyarch title came out, the “Vault” map had a springboard that was fully functional. As TheGamer wrote at the time, “This means that if you press the jump button right on the edge, as if you were jumping on a real diving board, your player character will take a trip to the sky.”
“It's our design team that continues the rich tradition of functional springboards from Cold War Miami ;),” wrote a verified Treyarch developer on Reddit.
At first, many took the springboard as a means of quickly killing unsuspecting enemies by jumping over them and out of their sight. However, another user discovered that the springboard had enough energy in it to launch someone onto a balcony located in a nearby building, allowing someone to easily escape the melee.
It's just one of the many Easter Eggs found throughout Call of Duty history, one that will continue whether there's positivity or negativity in the air.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fixed the series' biggest multiplayer problem, but no one cares
Skill-based matchmaking may be gone, but it doesn't seem to be able to attract Arc Raiders players.
