It's been over five years since the sci-fi RPG was released, and despite its infamously rough start, it's since bounced back and now holds a special place in many gamers' hearts. Alas, everyone is excited about what's next Cyberpunk 2077 will have to wait for its continuation.
In mid-2025 Cyberpunk 2077 received its massive 2.3 update, which introduced new vehicles, additional quests, and an autodrive feature, among a host of other changes. This activity may have caught the attention of some fans, raising hopes that a larger expansion could be on the way. While it is understandable why people would believe these rumours, CDPR has made it clear that this is wishful thinking.

CDPR says there are no plans for more Cyberpunk 2077 DLC
On March 10, a user responded to a notification that Cyberpunk 2077 was available on Xbox Game Pass to ask about “secret new DLC” and official Cyberpunk bill immediately shot down the idea. CDPR says it has no plans to make any DLC after 2023 Phantom Liberty. Just in case that leaves room for interpretation, the account also said there will be no expansions, ruling out both paid and free content outside of minor updates. It said it would inform fans if that stance changes in the future, but that seems unlikely given the harshness of the backlash and the fact that CDPR has also denied the existence of new Cyberpunk DLC in the past.

While the CDPR may not have proposed any Cyberpunk 2077 content was on the way, it's easy to see where such rumors might come from. It has been rumored that the moon-based setting could find its way back into the franchise in the sequel, but that is unclear at this time. Regardless, there is a second game that fans can look forward to now Cyberpunk content and this wait may take some time. CD Projekt Red stated that Cyberpunk 2 likely won't come out until 2030, and that timeline could also change in light of its aggressive plans Charmer series. There could be small updates, but it seems like nothing big is coming for the game for the next five years.
