The following are spoilers for the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Mass Effect stars Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer would like to play Commander Shepard again in the next entry in the series, although it appears BioWare has not yet contacted them to do so. Both Commander Shepard actors loved the role and would return for another Mass Effect if the opportunity arose.
Over the past few decades, few original sci-fi games in gaming have achieved such legendary recognition as Mass Effect trilogy. End Mass Effect 3 was divisive among many, but the trilogy itself became an iconic story in no small part thanks to Commander Shepard, the semi-customizable lead character of the third-person shooter. In 2020, BioWare confirmed another Mass Effect the game was coming, although very little was released about it in the years that followed.
Exodus' biggest weakness means that Mass Effect 5 needs to strike while the iron is hot

Mass Effect stars Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer want to play Commander Shepard again
Of course, one of the big questions on everyone's mind is whether or not Commander Shepard will be back — and it turns out it's a question shared by the main character's cast as well. Prolific voice actors Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer recently appeared as the female and male voice actors for Shepard Falling damage respond to various comments from fans on YouTube. Right off the bat, pondering Shepard's potential survival at the end of Destruction , Hale said, “I invite everyone out there to email the powers that be making these games and say, 'Give us more Shepard, please,' because we're going to be there. Because we should No go.” She continued, “I'd be there with bells on if they asked us to play Shepard again.
Meer echoed her enthusiasm, albeit with false seriousness, saying that he agreed, “but only under any circumstances. It seems that if BioWare wants the first Human Specter to return in the next game, they'll have little trouble getting Hale and Meer back into the studio to play Shepard in the next game.” Mass Effect.
I encourage everyone out there to email the powers that be making these games and say “give us more Shepard please” because we will be there. Because we should No go. I would be there with bells on if they asked us to play Shepard again.
However, the fact that they were so open about their eagerness to theoretically return Mass Effect because Shepard almost certainly means that no one has approached them yet. While this could simply be because BioWare hasn't gotten to the stages of development where voice acting is being recorded, it could also mean that Shepard simply won't be returning. Regardless, next Mass Effect the project is probably still a long way off, so it may be a while before fans know for sure.
What do we actually know about the next Mass Effect?
Not much is actually known about the other one Mass Effect game – neither the name nor whether it would technically be Mass Effect 4 or 5with respect Andromeda. However, there are still some interesting tidbits that players have seen, including some concepts shared by former BioWare game director Casey Hudson in 2019. That said, the first real bite came in the form of a trailer during The Game Awards 2020, shortly after Hudson's departure. This trailer with Liara pulling the N7 logo out of a wreckage in the snow confirmed that it will take place after Mass Effect 3and probably won't be a sequel Andromedawhich takes place 600 years later in another galaxy. Even so, there are twin galaxies and quotes from Andromeda they hint during the trailer that it might still include some aspects of the spinoff.
Then, on N7 this year, BioWare executive producer Mike Gamble shared a new piece of concept art featuring a group of Krogans with guns blazing. Titled 'Civil War', Gamble has confirmed it's not a picture of the past, but rather of the future – potentially teasing the plot of the next Mass Effect game in progress.
That said, BioWare was one of many studios to experience serious layoffs this year, including Mass Effect veterans like writer Trick Weekes (Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Interrogationand Veilguard) and editor Karin Weekes (Mass Effect 2, 3and Andromeda, Dragon Age: Origins, 2and Interrogation, Anthemand SWTOR). Even so, the development of another game with a small team continues Mass Effect veterans who were retained or rehired, including Parrish Ley and Derek Watts, the game's original film and art directors. It may take some time before fans see more Mass Effect game, but at least it seems to be happening for now.
