Cookie Run: Kingdom Developers answered a question about cookies
One of the fans Cookie Run: Kingdom had some thoughts about the cookies included in the game and decided to ask the developers about them directly. On the subreddit dedicated to the title, a user named ProfessorGreat7440 shared screenshots showing the response to his question issued by Devsisters via support email. In the report, the developers addressed whether Cookies from the in-game universe have official real-world human skin colors and races. The creators stated that the characters in the game belong to fantasy species and their colors and appearance are designed to represent the elements, themes and concepts associated with the character, so they are not subject to the concepts of human races and skin color classifications in the real world.

The post sparked a lively discussion among other players, whose opinions on the subject differed. Some of them agreed with the answer, saying that it was clear to them from the beginning that Cookies have no official counterparts in the real world of human skins and races, and that the developers' answer is official proof of that. However, other fans felt that the message was designed with PR in mind, as Cookie's designs clearly refer to actual cultural groups, as evidenced by Golden Cheese Cookie representing ancient Egypt and Dark Cacao Cookie recalling Korean culture, among others. Some of them also added that in Cookie Run: Kingdom universe, more significance is attached to the Cookies flavor, implying the existence of class differences and forms of prejudice that the developers could not officially confirm due to advertising the game to children.
The fact that players pay close attention to the attributes and properties assigned to the cookies available in Cookie Run: Kingdom it shows that they treat them as more than just another character to play battles with. Some players have admitted in a discussion below a Reddit post that they create their own headers related to the characters they own, select them for their team based on criteria they've come up with, and even give them different personalities. And considering that fans of the game have a wide variety of new and returning cookies to choose from, each with different flavors, themes, abilities, colors, attributes, shapes, and backgrounds, it's not hard for them to become attached to these baked characters. Since the story of the game is constantly evolving and new content is continuously added, players can look forward to the arrival of new cookies that will diversify not only the fight, but also the whole Cookie Run game universe.
