The annoying Crimson Desert sprint that makes you press the button over and over like you're in a Rockstar game has been fixed by the modders.
If there's one thing we can all agree on about Crimson Desert, it's that the controls are some of the most frustrating and unintuitive in recent triple-A history. Ever since the game launched, players have complained about how hard it is to do pretty much anything because the controls are so incredibly clunky and trying to do so many things at once.
The backlash over how clunky Crimson Desert plays has become so vocal that Pearl Abyss even responded and promised changes would come in a future patch. For now, however, modders are already doing a goddamn job of making Crimson Desert less of a pain to play, starting with perhaps its most annoying mechanic – sprinting.
Modders have already fixed the Crimson Desert button mashing sprint
I've never been more jealous of PC players
As anyone who has even watched Crimson Desert knows, it lasts much inspired by Rockstar games. While some of that influence is good, Pearl Abyss has bizarrely decided to take one of the things that no one really likes about GTA and Red Dead Redemption, by forcing the player to press the X button and sprint.
To be fair, Rockstar actually allows you to change this setting, while Crimson Desert has no alternative but to wear your thumb.
It's pretty annoying in Rockstar games, but at least it lends itself to more realistic movement and locations, which can't be said about Crimson Desert's vast open spaces and more varied crawling mechanics. I thought I was the only one who hated how Crimson Desert handles sprinting, but apparently a lot of you are bothered by it since mods that fix sprinting are already available days after launch.
Take the aptly named “CDSprintHold – Hold SHIFT to Sprint” mod from Nexus Mods creator Maszradine, which does exactly what it says on the tin, binding a sprint to a simple shift hold. Maszradin's description of the mod also says what we're all thinking when he calls the button-mashing approach “a frustrating throwback that tires quickly.”
Interestingly, this isn't even the only mod that aims to fix sprint that's on Nexus Mods. RetroXrus has put together some hotkeys for sprinting, jogging, and some other counterintuitive parts of the game's design, so it's very clear that the modding scene is going to be heavily focused on making Crimson Desert less cumbersome.

It is highly unlikely that you will ever ride a dragon in the crimson desert
It's a massive grind before you even get a glimpse of a dragon in Crimson Desert, and when you do get it, it's kind of useless.
